ABIDE! JUST ABIDE!

How could we ever deserve?

Is this not why He died?

Did we not need a transfusion?

His perfect blood applied?

.

.

Adam and Eve from the garden,

They needed, as Abel and Cain,

Perfect sacrifice, Abel’s,

By the which he was slain!

.

.

The Passover Lamb, too, was needed,

Another symbol of the cross!

Blood on the doorposts and lintel,

Lamb of God suffered loss!

.

.

“Behold the Lamb of God!”  John cried!

What further proof do we need?

That Jesus’ blood was required,

Of course, The Savior must bleed! (*)

.

.

Why this provision required?

Could personal action suffice?

No!  “Our righteousness is as filthy rags.”

The Savior must pay sin’s price!

.

.

“The wages of sin is death!”  So He died!

Sin’s penalty, “Once for all,”

Was paid!  Our salvation is intact!

Just believe and on Him call!

.

.

Year by year animals are killed

Symbolism quite clear!  But

“Once for all His blood made provision!”

So we need to nevermore fear!

.

.

“What must we do then to be saved?

Receive Him!  Stay by His side

Believe, receive, what did Christ say?

“Abide in Me, Just Abide!”

WALKING IN THE DARK

A darkness one could really feel!

Looked up no stars out there!

Hand close to my face cannot see it!

Sightless, like, I am nowhere!

.

.

Age 20 I had left hometown,

Gravel road crunched below!

Feet instinctively felt for grass

Beside the road should grow!

.

.

Treading carefully soon it was found!

I wondered what lay ahead?

Inching along considering that

“This is like being dead!”

.

.

Or blind, at least, how to figure!

Like, I prayed finally

Moved along like being pushed,

Oh, so glad Grace is free!

.

.

Suddenly white faintly ahead!

A church quite possibly!

Eyes fixed on that brightness up there,

Moved along confidently!

.

.

From Ohio to Kansas City,

Out on that pitch black road.

I had been trying to get away,

Far away from my God!

.

.

Complete the darkness that day Jesus died!

It struck, like, middle of the day!

Priests terrified!  Angels bemoaning,

Not the happiest day!

.

.

Must the Christ put up with this?

An angel asks another,

‘Killing God’s son!’  Shook his head,

Well, Cain killed his brother.

.

.

Stop!  This is GOD!  These are Priests,

Just how can one comprehend?

Assuming sin’s penalty now

Against sin to contend!

.

.

“Wages of sin is death!”  God decreed!

Then God took it on Himself!

Can we make a God like this to

Place up on a shelf?

.

.

Our God lives!  Died but arose!

Forgave our sins the result!

Sins loss, GOD Himself assumed!

Will not find this in no cult!

.

.

Cannot put this story on canvas,

To large for any pics!

God gave Himself to die for me!

Cultists all fiddle-sticks!

.

.

“Meroni,” “I Am,” what have you,

“Mormon,” all pacing in the dark!

Then, see that light?  The perfect church!

Jesus alone my mark!

.

.

I did find my way much later!

Then my God took care of me!

Same God trudged through blackest night!

Gave it all on Calvary!

SEE HIM THERE

Savior, Redeemer, you came to be

Sacrificial Lamb for all, for me!

He took my place, assumed yours, too!

A sinners cross, what more could He do?

.

.

The One who knew no sin became

Spotless, He was without any shame!

Condemned Himself!  Death on a cross!

Reserved only for criminal lost!

.

.

Murderer’s, worst!  Under the sun!

He identified as though He was one!

Taking our punishment, lest we doubt.

Cross for criminals, could do without!

.

.

But one who recognized deity!

Cried out in pain,  “Remember me!”

To the Christ who took the sinners place

“This day…”  He exclaimed, “Saved by grace!”

.

.

If in this life only, we have hope,

Miserable we are!  Can only grope

In hopelessness, pretending joy!

Irreversible pain to annoy!

.

.

To wreck havoc, judgment is rendered!

As in the days of Noah, tendered.

Repeatedly God is warning,  “Escape

My wrath to fall, before it’s too late!”

.

.

As judgment as rendered in that day!

So now impending!  What is left to say?

“The wages of sin is death,” is there more?

Everlasting pain waits at the door!

.

.

But what of the Christ, who took our sins?

He took your place!  Did He die in vain?

Punishing death from beginning of time!

Torturous death!  Committed no crime!

.

.

Sure, he took a chance!  Gambled for me!

Did He know I would say, yes?  Be free?

What of the multitudes gone before?

A few repent.  Does He long for more?

.

.

He died for all but so few, it seems,

Separate themselves that He redeems.

How His heart must break for His lost!

After giving His life on that torturous cross!

.

.

I hear a sob from that cross anew,

“Father, forgive them they know not what they do!”

They spit on Him, mocked Him, hanged on a tree.

Creator of worlds, died there for me!

.

.

Of course, I wept!  Am weeping still

Because He died on that torturous hill!

My tears will not stop until I see Him there!

Arms to receive me, new joy to share!

NO ALLOTMENT

Most horrific sight on television is

The smooth red spreading of blood!

Its suddenness tends to terrorize

Just watching this crimson flood.

.

.

Blood of Christ, too why does it not?

Lulled, what have we become  to?

Spilling of blood, meaning ‘nada’

Nothing at all to you?

.

.

Old hymns are replete with the meaning

Of His cleansing from sin!

Blood of the Savior,  Jesus The Lord

Without no entrance in–

.

.

Into the splendor of matchless love!

And His unceasing care!

For cleansing in the blood of Him!

What else can compare?

.

.

TV replete with heroics yet

The hero comes clean

With maybe a wound or two to embellish

Greater than it may seem.

.

.

Hero suffers a bit but must live on!

How else can he be adored?

Jesus buried, arose from the grave!

Nothing less could afford.

.

.

Any pledge or love we may extend

For the blood poured out!

What for each sinner that receives,

Knows what it is all about!

.

.

How can such love be bested?

What hero’s will do,

Our hero’s must live on and on!

Christ’s death final for you!

.

.

“Wages of sin…death.”  No allotment!

And no one else will  –  will do!

The perfect Son of God, God Himself

Sure, God died for you!

.

.

When just a child, a daydreamer

I figured a wall out there

Black but by daylight transparent!

Keeping us in His care!

.

.

He came!  But the living forever,

Always was!  Never mind

About impossibilities

Our God is One of a Kind!

.

.

FOREVER!

.

.

Jesus, how I love Him!

.

.

ETERNAL EVERLASTING

Recipients we are of everlasting life,

Meaning we will live forever!

As God’s children, we suffer with Adam,

Life cut short to an hour.

.

.

This life of clay, sure not everlasting!

Our years shortened by sin!

Adam’s and, of course, our sins also,

“Wages of sin…”  Cut it thin!

.

.

Our God is so kind, punishment does not seem, like, at all!

Morality, sure, it is our chastisement.  Attributive Adam’s fall!

As Adam’s offspring, we do likewise and we suffer pangs of death!

Sickness added, sins of the flesh, and old age shortness of breath!

.

.

Defeatist attitude?  No, defeated truly

But our loving God loves still!

And this love from eternal to everlasting.

Everlastingly He will!

.

.

And He does forgive!  We must recognize!

His dying love says it all!

“Wages of sin is death…”  But annulled!

Through Christ’s death applying!

.

.

He, in His love, claimed our punishment!  our sins, His total loss!

So deliberate, so real, He cried, “My God!  You have forsaken Me!”

Then  “Into Thy Hands, I give Myself.”  Through death, new life we are free!

Life in Heaven, Eternal, of course, will not worry how long it will be!

Living with God in foreverness, just have to wait and see!

.

.

Our God is not confined by time or space!

Orbs out there, are real!

Livable, of course, sure habitable!

Spirits live on and can feel!

.

.

“I go to prepare a place for you…”

Will time have a limit?

Neither does space!  Endless, of course!

As we who will live in it!

.

.

Heavens above, our places preparing

No blank boundaries at all!

No end at all to everlasting life!

And space, it is there on call!

.

.

I do not suppose that the God of heaven

As timeless as He!

Can ever be limited, at all!

Meaning of Eternity!
