MY COUNTRY ‘TIS OF THEE

‘The Fourth’ a day to celebrate,

We have good reason to.

“One nation under God,” we say

But now a conflicting view.

.

.

Our fathers stood firm for the truth.

They fought for it and won!

We have grown now and the truth proclaimed

Is not accepted by some.

.

.

‘The truth’ what is it? Pilate asked.

I think an honest question.

The Lord gave answer, I believe,

As honest as the question.

.

.

“I,” He said with authority,

“I am the way and the truth

And the life.”  Abundant and free

But this we do not teach the youth.

.

.

Obviously the truth is Christ,

The Divine expression of GOD!

Anything else is cult and wrong

And that we cannot afford!

.

.

Of course, that is what our freedom says

We are free to live and choose.

But I cannot help throwing this in,

It is either The Way or lose.

.

.

Songs we like to sing on the Fourth;

“…His truth goes marching on.”

From the “Battle Hymn of the Republic,”

But then what is in a song?

.

.

“My Country ‘tis of Thee, sweet land…”

“My eyes have seen The Glory of the coming of The Lord.”

“Christ was born across the sea with a Glory in His bosom

That transfigures you and me!”

.

.

But celebrate; it is nice to know,

One thing we agree upon,

The fireworks are fun and nice

And the flag will still fly on and on!

YOUR PERSPECTIVE

One foot in the grave the other on ice,

Is that the perspective now?

Our actual thoughts regarding the truth

Of pallor on the brow…

.

.

One foot on earth the other above!

Now there is a thought, mature!

It is nice to know where you are bound

Because we are going to die, for sure!

.

.

The older I grow more surely I know,

I am really just passing through.

My sight is inclined more surely each day

On that city beyond the blue!

.

.

If this is your perspective I know

You are living not missing a thing.

Your life is full, sure some pain now and then,

But assured of what heaven will bring!

.

.

Like peace and joy evermore!

ACKNOWLEDGING THE TRUE

Your body, have you noticed how it is subtly composed?

Parts and organs working from your head down to your toes? (*)

One fantastic orchestration, every cell knows what to do!

It is harmony of order with the orders up to you!

.

.

Sure, it is tempered all together, every organ well endowed

With ability to function in its order as allowed.

One order from the top tells your feet how to walk.

An order from the brain tells your tongue and mouth to talk.

.

.

Where to go, what to say in this intricate design,

We are tempered in adjustment to get along just fine!

The computer, human genius did it up do not you know,

But the brain, “It just happened!” quote some idiot so and so!

.

.

Oops!  I am sorry!  Not an idiot!  God created his brain, too.

Maybe just an unbeliever not acknowledging the true!

The true truth as proclaimed in the Bible, do you read?

If you do, you have found that, “The truth can make you free!” (**)

.

.

(*)  1 Corinthians 12:24

(**) “…know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

Ah the Bible, most important book on your shelf!  Actually it is a library containing 66 books.  Take awhile to read it!  Why not start at the beginning, Genesis 1:1, “In the beginning, God…”  You see God always was and He is, and He always will be.  That last statement indicates something we have in common, we will live forever!  Now, what did God do?  “God created us in His image.”  Take a look in the mirror.  “You are fearfully and wonderfully made.”

MY COUSIN ROY

One of a kind was Roy, there will never be another.

A loving father and everybody’s brother!

.

.

Man of God foremost, seeking first God’s kingdom,

Preaching wondrous Grace, everyone is welcome!

.

.

That is the gospel buddy, “Whosoever will”

“Come to Me…”  Inviting the age-old gospel still.

.

.

No easy payment plans, like, the many paths of God.

Roy stuck with the truth, he walked where Jesus trod!

.

.

Christ who made the claim, “The Way, The Truth, The Life!”

We follow Jesus’ way or end in bitter strife!

.

.

“Come unto Me,” He called, “And I will give you rest.”

Have you ever done this?  Why not put Him to the test?

.

.

If your church does not teach this, better make a change!

The Good News that is the gospel, your life can rearrange.

.

.

Take it or leave it friend, this is not something new!

Old as creation!  That only God can do!

.

.

Good business something Roy kept in perspective,

Not a priority, sort of an elective.

.

.

“Seeking first the kingdom of God,” this was his goal!

And still his goal in heaven with God in control. (*)

.

.

I will see you soon, Roy!

.

.

(*) I would not have it any other way!  If you have a better plan I would like to hear it!

MY SIGNATURE

Singing I go along life’s road, praising the Lord.

Hymns that I sang so long ago my Lord adored,

Sang over and over again.  What God gave,

Tuneful voice that God gave me went out so brave!

Of Jesus’ love my signature.

.

.

Not showing off!  Just can’t help singing it!

Voice I am given, melodies!  I use it!

Brighten where you are, one way to share.

Love of Jesus at home and everywhere!

Oh, let it be just a voice!

.

.

Crying in this wilderness of sin!  “Come to Me!”

“All who are weary, burdened, I will give rest!

Take My yoke upon you, lean now on Me.”

There are many ways, I will show the best!

Pleading now, I will give you rest!

.

.

Oh, so many possible roads to take,

Zoroaster, Hindu, Mohammed, all are fake.

Somewhat airy not new, the ‘I AM’ movement

Sure, all are downgrade, cults, all fake!

(Check them out.  They are downgrade.)

.

.

Jesus claims, “I am the Way, The truth, the Life.”

No one comes to the faith, save through Me!

He has made paths clear, for many out of strife!

Wealthy, the beggar, from sin can be free!

And make heaven certain home!)

.

.

Delight in The Lord and He will give you

Desires of your heart!  A promise so true!

Proven many Christians around this old sphere,

But do not bother checking, go with me here!

(As God leads the way!)

“Way of the Cross leads Home!”

LOVE NOT LUST

For love is of God and

He who does not love

Does not know God!  For

God is purest love!

.

.

Lust can only give pleasure to

Only One, the self.

When it is done, it is done!

Back on the shelf!

.

.

Can not be compromised!

It worketh no ill!

To neighbor to anyone!

It is self-giving still!

.

.

“Boasts not of self is not puffed up”

Hated all that is evil!

And only the truth can satisfy!

It is not from the Devil!

.

.

Now abideth, faith, hope, love,

Greatest of these is love!

Sure, faith, hope are forever!

But love rated above.

.

.

What brought Jesus down to earth?

What nailed Him to that cross?

What sent Him there that we need never

Ever suffer loss!

.

.

Christ alone could die for sins,

He sinless, your sins, too!

Purest love sent Him here to die!

What more could Jesus do?

.

.

A whole lot more, how to give

Unselfishly all His life!

Teaching all how we should live.

Freed from hate, the strife!

,

,

Sure, now we live by faith and hope

But what comes from above?

What sent our Savior to that cross?

Just love, purest love!

.

.
