I AM SCUM?

Someday I shall be like Him for I will see Him as He is.

This is not inconceivable the desire is not amiss.

.

.

To be more like The Master in thought, in word, and in deed

Is desirable and natural not signifying greed.

.

.

For geed is not included in the spirit-fruits we see

Gentleness and kindness these will last eternally.

.

.

Patience, love, joy, and peace continue evermore

They litter the fair streets of that everlasting shore!

.

.

The brightest smile imaginable will greet you over there

Whether angel or first arrival the greeting will not be rare!

.

.

Listen up!  We are bought with the blood of the Savior.

We are justified and cleansed from all debased behavior.

.

.

Just as if I had died but God did it for me.

I am cleansed, I am made perfect, I am now forever free!

.

.

Was not righteousness imputed to Abraham by faith?

Reconciled and credited, giving then a perfect slate? (*)

.

.

The witnesses of Hebrews 12, great cloud of scummy folk,

All anticipated heavens joys imputed, not revoked! (**)

.

.

I am scum but I am a child of God!  Please elucidate!

For if I should remain scum I may miss my date!

ALL THIS STUFF

Perhaps I am overbearing with

My poetry and stuff,

But I have got to keep it flowing

Until the Master says “Enough!”

.

.

This is His will for me, you know.

It is something I must do!

A simple gift from Him to me

I must pass on to you!

.

.

“Neglect not your gift…” He said.

These words to Timothy (1)

Neglect it not!  Despise it not,

And this applies to me.

.

.

What is more, I am to stir it up!

Encourage it and then (2)

I just cannot let it lay around

Must share it with my friend! (3)

.

.

“What is in all this for you?” you ask.

“You will soon be dead and gone.” (4)

Exactly!  Now you know my task

If Jesus tarries long!

.

.

(1) I Timothy 4:14

(2) II Timothy 1:6

(3) Friends, relatives, enemies…

(4) In heaven then my kids, grandkids and great grands

just may get a blessing (or laugh) out of my gift.

HE FOUND ME

Just one sheep missing, one from the fold.

The Shepherd must leave?  This is getting old.

“Let that one lamb go, sure you can afford,

You still have the ninety-nine!  Stay with us, Lord!”

The man shakes His head, care wrinkles show!

“Someone is lost!  You know I must go!”

.

.

Through rocky steeps and rugged miles

His body torn, His pain denied.

“I came to seek and save the lost,”

“I am prepared at any cost!”

“The cost is My life and that must be!”

“If they would live eternally!”

.

.

That one lost sheep is multiplied!

Ten thousand fold, you must decide.

No other can decide for you,

You are the master, you know it is true.

“The master of my fate,” am I,

“I must decide before I die!”

.

.

The cost may be too high, consider!

Heaven’s Light!  Or would you rather

Languish in the dark pit of hell?

The Shepherd says, “That will not do!

That is why I am coming after you!”

Or are you playing with Him still?

He found you, follow!  All is well!

.

.

Are not you glad He sought and found you?

CAN HE BE BLEST?

Jesus suffered long before men

Beat His body! Watched Him bleed

Pain and suffering! These His fortune

Predicated by mans greed!

How could love profane a temple?

Love of money? Sure, it is true!

Temple hawkers, Christ rejected, (*)

What else could The Master do?

Give your life? This is the premise

This is what He is searching for.

“Save your life and you will lose it.”

Self-fullness God does deplore!

How can any miss the promise (**)

To the loving, giving soul?

“Give and it shall be given,”

Back to those in His control!

If we truly love The Master,

What we have belongs, you know,

To Him! For His ever loving service

For His work of love below!

Any other thought conspires to

A point of greed and shame!

Will he perish with his riches?

Cannot be blest in Jesus’ name!

(*) Discouraged? Is it strong enough?

(**) They do differ.
