AND YET HE LOVES ME

Jesus, the very thought of you eliminates all fear!

Fact that I can call Your name and I am drawn ever near!

.

.

Draw me much nearer now I pray.

Let me abide in You!

But now can this be possible?

Sure, there’s nothing You cannot do!

.

.

Came to us a tiny baby.  Grew-up with hammer and nails.

A carpenter in learning daily to fix and make a trail.

.

.

Only trail to Heaven and home,

Maker of stars and worlds!

One way to go and not alone!

Believing it all unfurls!

.

.

Believe accepting God as King!

And can this ever be?

Creator of everything that is!

Worlds and eternity!

.

.

Tiny snail, house on its back.

Limitless space  out there!

Never ending.  On forever!

With countless flowers so fair!

.

.

Yet You came baby Bethlehem!

Spurned, kicked, about healed all.

Raised a dead man!  Will raise many more!

All who ‘on Your name call’!

.

.

Planets, stars just try counting them,

Impossible numberless!

Endless continuing and time:  no end!

True:  speechless I confess!

.

.

And I call Him friend and I am living still!

Creator, lover of souls.

Maker of worlds, Maker my God!

Everything He controls!

.

.

Yes, He loves even me!  the Sam

JUST CONTEMPLATING

Just what is heaven like?  Not too much comes to mind.

There is happiness complete!  But mostly undefined.

.

.

Descriptions often swarm of favorite spots on earth,

Giddy thrills complete with laughter, chills and mirth.

.

.

But some joys more subdued contingent not on place,

Dependent not on fixtures, guy toys, or pretty face.

.

.

What then can we say about this vast unknown?

Paradise, Third Heaven, so much to Paul was shown!

.

.

“Unlawful,” were his words regarding what he saw. (*)

Kept true to his vision.  He did not break God’s law!

.

.

But I had no such vision or law containing me.

All imagination and guess what it comes free!

.

.

Does not the bible tell us to encourage one another

With our future habitation with each other forever?

.

.

Consider God, The Father, loving us the way He does.

Would He deny any to those He dearly loves? (**)

.

.

Consider too, the suffering He bore for you and me,

That we may live in heaven with Him eternally!

.

.

So imagine what you will, you cannot exceed His love!

For your complete enjoyment, He placed galaxies above.

.

.

Many mansions without end!  Think there is room for you?

Would not be surprised!  With everyday something new!

.

.

So come and go with me to my father’s home

Where it is not against the law to investigate or roam!

.

.

Where you will never be kicked out for lack of rent to pay

Play with the stars and the satellites all day!

.

.

Now consider Jesus, who for the joy He foreknew

Endured the cross, bore the shame, did all He could do–

.

.

To prove His love, take us there, Third Heaven, Paradise,

His greatest joy to take us home.  All by His device!

ETERNAL EVERLASTING

“Coming down from God out of heaven?”

New heaven and earth shall be

Forever glorify our King of Kings,

Then we will know eternity!

.

.

Eternity means no more than life evermore!

Eternity is God designed!

Whatever man may boast, all he can do

Only God!  Man halts at that line!

.

.

We will live forever but God always was!

God created everything!

Admit that you cannot understand it all!

Finitely we to Him cling!

.

.

The stars above He has counted them all!

He gave to each one its own name! (1)

Pleiades of Taurus, Antares all the stars

And each one unique, none the same!

.

.

Great is God’s power!  His understanding, too!

Infinite His wisdom! Agree? (2)

Beyond imagination beyond all our means

We are but mortality!

.

.

So now consider His mercy and His grace,

Not just His power but His love!

“Heals the brokenhearted, binds up our wounds.” (3)

Fits us for heaven above!

.

.

A mighty blast of thunder!  Spinning galaxies!

A sparrow falls, what?  The Father sees?

Not only sees He cares!  He reaches out!

By His Spirit, He our spirit frees! (4)

.

.

What more do we seek?  What else do we need?

God’s promise, “Each need I will supply.”

Happiness today!  “Joy unspeakable,” always

Everlastingly.  “The sweet bye and bye!”

.

.

(1) Psalm 147:4

(2) Psalm 147:5

(3)Psalm 147:3

(4) We are God’s sparrows, His eye is on us!

DREAMS OR REALITY

“Wrap the drapery of his couch about him,” how about a body bag?

“Lie down to pleasant dreams down there,” or watch that body sag. (*)

.

Forget all that corruption!  All dust to dust will turn.

May pipe some music to that grave, good listening while you burn!

.

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust.  What difference will it make?

God puts it all together again almost like shake-n-bake.

.

God made us and He can unmake, like, throw away some stars.

Whole bunch of unmanned planets, too, like, Mercury and Mars!

.

Is there a purpose in all this?  Who knows?  I know God knows!

Tsunami power can destroy!  As can the wind that blows.

.

Whole lot of fire down below!  A lot of gas and heat.

Mount Saint Helens and Vesuvius both prove that is hard to beat!

.

So can we trust our God to save?  Provision has been made!

You cannot hack it be yourself, good works will not make the grade.

.

Salvation is by faith alone and absolutely free!

Christ made provision on that cross!  His blood now cleanses me!

.

What more can simple pilgrims ask?  Lie down to pleasant dreams?

That dream may last a second, you will wake up realities!

.

So real you will never give a thought to what transpired before!

So real we will not have thoughts to waste on skies or walls or floor!

.

So real we will recognize each face though ageless we will be.

And visit?  Time will be no more, just everlastingly!

HE NUMBERS THE STARS

Can anyone count the stars out there?

Like in our galaxy alone?

A trillion, quintillion, perhaps googolplex,

No countless!  The mind sheer blows!

.

.

Then there is the rest of the universe!

Forget the Milky Way!

Seems like a galaxy in itself,

Numberless stars displayed!

.

.

Our star cluster within this vastness

No mind can ever contain.

But to the One who made it all,

To God, of course, it is so plain!

.

.

“Without number…except to Creator God,”

Every planet controlled!

And named and charted to be used

As the future unfolds.

.

.

This only God knows surprises complete!

As His smile lights the way!

Untouched by time; His presence aglow!

Promise a brighter day!

.

.

“Many mansions,” that Jesus promised,

With a twinkle in His eye.

Was His reference to planets about

A thought to fetch a sigh?

.

.

Mansion to mansion, planet to planet?

Does this present a problem?

Not a problem to this glorified body. (*)

Through the Spirit to solve them.

.

.

“The heavens shout the Glory of God!”

That glory will not be diminished!

We will dwell in that glory, the heavens,

When for us it is finished!

.

.

DEEP SEEDING

In the glory of the heavens

How can anyone come close

To numbering the stars out there?

You would surely get a dose–

.

.

Of eyeball circles,

Wanting to deliver

One star from another where

Some seem to merge together.

.

.

Countless!  Numbering impossible!

With just part of the sky

Visible to the telescope, not

To mention the naked eye!

.

.

Numberless, like, the sands of the sea.

Countless may come closer to fact

Than an exaggerated number out there

Giving number to the birds in the sky.

.

.

Coming within a fraction

But that is what my God can do!

My God of compassion!

.

.

Countless?  Numberless?  God knows all!

Every tree, every plant that grows!

Made them all, the plants and trees!

What does He not know?

.

.

Knows my thoughts, dreams, concerns,

Sure, knows my every need!

“Cattle on a thousand hills…”

In pleasant pastures feed!

.

.

Sure, “God will take care of you”

Let Him!  Trust Him!  Believe!

“He will never leave nor forsake!”

“Ask and you shall receive!”

.

.

Of course, we have done wonders

Through Christ’s cross heeding,

But only God creates life!

Through His word, seeming!

.

.

Spread the word, God sows the seed!

RESPONSIBILITY

We have visited stars, seen earth below.

The more we see the less we know.

We plant a seed then we watch it grow.

Where is the responsibility?

.

.

We see a creature not The Creator!

Give Him a thought?  Not now, later.

Debated instead of the debater,

What is responsibility?

.

.

We have a thought that covers it all,

“Evolved from amoeba,” that is the call.

Small wonder we from grace did fall!

No responsibility!

.

.

But the more we know the less we know.

Cannot be bothered with how things grow!

He despised, rejected, nothing to show?

But responsibility!

.

.

He accepted the responsibility!

He died on the cross for you and me!

There are others who need Him!  Cannot we see?

Face responsibility!

.

.

God made (loves) us!  Will not leave us alone!

He is responsible to everyone!

Did He not die?  Our sins to atone?

His responsibility!

.

.

So why are we so important to God?

Created to mold us by, Him adored!

Why do not we crown Him our King and Lord?

Lack of responsibility!

.

.

When Jesus comes just what will remain?

When He searches for one that He cannot find,

Responsible?  Oh, he was left behind!

Who is responsible?

.

.
