I FLEW WITH ANGELS

I do not think that God drives a Cadillac. (*)

And Chryslers are quite scarce up there.

While the angels do not live in palaces

They manage to look tidy, clean, and fair.

.

.

Though things on earth do not seem applicable,

Angels can adjust, I know it is true.

I saw the white, I felt their hands though lightly.

I just relaxed, nothing left to do.

.

.

The moment I gave up with both legs dying,

My hands three inches from the ground,

I was lifted, carried, and I thanked them.

But there were no “Jump Masters” around.

.

.

“Jump Masters carried you?  No!  I do not think so.”

“You flew in alone and clobbered me!”

I then came to the most natural assumption;

Hands felt real and white all I could see.

.

.

I actually was carried by those angels!

Obvious reality assumed!

Reality?  But angels are just spirits!

Perhaps I am not spiritually attuned!

.

.

A cool breeze blows, we assume just happened.

Or were a host of angels flying by?

I do believe they are real and we will be like them!

Angels been around, they never die!

.

.

So what we have here is a dimension,

A dimension of the spirit, not unknown!

Believed in and accepted unrestrictive!

We will fly with them nevermore alone!

.

.

(*) Me?  I cannot even spell it!

FUTURISTIC

Will heaven enthrone kings of all tribes

And will there be crowns enough?

Do not bother this guy with such details

Crowns, robes all such stuff!

.

.

Crown is the symbol of top honor

All Saints will be honored there!

The least of all saints may show greatest

Nothing earth shows will compare!

.

.

What most of us think as important

Not fanfare, medals and such.

“Dear God, will you just let me in, please?”

Just being there almost too much!

.

.

But mercy and grace are much greater!

Matchless love is what I see.

Just how can you be sure old man?

His Grace far enough for me!

.

.

Yes, I am old and I am certain

I am close enough there to know.

The cleaning crew, if they have such,

Far better than Kingship below!

.

.

No cleanup detail, not needed there!

Stuffing oneself not for me.

Do not know if eating is involved at all,

Just have to wait and see!

.

.

As spirits we will know everything.

“Glorified body,” what is that?

What I think, there will be no restrictions

To Neptune in nothing flat!

.

.

Why Neptune?  Is limitless space not enough?

I believe that is what heaven involves

From here to Pincus #99,

Weightless, problem solved.

.

.

Existential is that near close enough?

No everlasting I will be!

In glorified body or spirit there

The heavens in heaven I will see!

.

.

So I will spend a millennium trying to figure

But time is no factor at all!

With Jesus there to inspire and bless

His presence alone will enthrall!

I AM AMAZED!

Material thinking develops a trend,

Exclusion to the profound!

Our thoughts so encased in matter, in things,

We cannot get our feet off the ground!

.

.

Material creatures we truly are!

Hard though to comprehend!

Paul’s suggestion exactly in sync (*)

Beyond imagination extend!

.

.

Knowledge we have but can we examine,

Material thoughts when contained?

Down deep in predictable hemispheres

But shallow as matter remains!

.

.

Are spirits controlled by matter or things?

Cold, heat, fire?  Of course not!

Materially we are hampered, at least,

Spirit world way beyond our thought!

.

.

Just what does this do to the natural self?

Will it not let us explore?

What the imagination presumes to do

Before it hits the floor!

.

.

What we do not know about this endless space,

Other planets, the Milky Way,

The great beyond without an end!

Cannot think past, far away!

.

.

Many more worlds, beyond ours, extend!

Thought tickling pure Majesty!

“Heavens declare…!” and is there yet more?

Much more than eye can see!

.

.

This mound of flesh, the Spirit contests,

This mound of flesh contained,

Spirit from flesh is seeking release

But is by the mortal detained!

.

.

One day we will escape mortal remains!

Spirits unhampered will lift!

To that other world!  Where?  Only God knows,

It is His Eternal Gift!
