JESUS SAID

“Foxes haves holes; birds have nests.”

But The Son of Man has not!

Has not a place to lay His head,

Though in need weary oft!

.

.

I left my home in heaven above!

Took on a servants strain

To lift, to serve, what then?  To die?

A God for sinners slain!

.

.

I knew no sin though tempted strong!

As Man I suffered loss!

Then as Christ for sinners slain!

Troubled oft tempest tossed!

.

.

“Peace, be still,” for storm and wave.

The elements obeyed!

Man alone with stubborn will,

Resists then sore dismayed!

.

.

Humbled some have come to Me,

To resist no more.

Submitted then to cruel death

To bring some safe to shore.

.

.

For I so loved this hell-bent world…

The crucifixion scene

Became a grim reality not

Just a dreaded dream.

.

.

I did my utmost, not up to you!

Your deal must accept!

What I have done for all mankind

Personalize this concept!

.

.

Just accept as simple as that.

Accepting My death as your own!

Dies as a sinner, (sins punishment!

I took it alone!)

Did Jesus ever wonder during His early life

About His short future as The Christ?

And then when He yawned and stretched sun on His back

Did He consider, just once, the price—

He would pay as His shadow formed a cross?

Did He wonder, a prophetic sign?

Of a sacrifice He was destined to make

Never committed any crime?

Only criminals feared that cross punishment

Then to Caesar, could it be?

That in their thinking He, Christ,

Desired to rule over the Country?

His preaching was way beyond this world of ours!

In heaven none can desire,

Without eyes, plain touched by God,

The cleansing by Holy Fire!

Pure this Jesus, no inclination to sin,

Never crossed His mind!

Even when tempted 40 days and nights!

None ever like His kind!

Sure, God became man and Satan tried

His best to cause the fall.

For 40 days and nights the tempter was

On His case but none at all—

Could move The Christ more than conqueror!

Perfect the Son of Man!

Forty days and nights with fasting

No rest, only God can!

Tempted and tried so often, consider,

Do we wonder; Does God care?

He cares and forgives! Trust! He will bring you home!

Even if He carries you there!

And that is why this is called Good Friday!

His sacrifice complete!

We can acknowledge make it all right!

Devil suffers defeat!

Just how could God watch His Son suffer?

Not easy but vigil kept!

Watched as they crucified Him,

And I am sure that God wept!

Despite the knowing, His Son would rise,

Resurrection, so true!

Horrific anger, anguish, but why?

The torture so terrible, too!

It is just a job, soldiers exclaimed,

Then gambled for His robe.

“My God, My God! Why?”

Turned His back as the soldiers strove!

THE ETERNAL PAUSE

Just what is man that God is mindful of him?

Or the Son of Man that He visits them?

Crowned with honor because of His love,

Made a bit lower than the Angels above!

Think not only of His short time on earth,

Subject to age and death from His birth!

But Eternal The God! No beginning or end!

We everlasting but with beginning contend!

Just how that Eternal I cannot understand,

We just give in to death upon God’s command!

God above was! What Eternal contends!

We give in to age! Grow crooked with bends.

Sickness hits all sometime or another,

Old age bought many along with mother.

Small pox in India did in my father!

But everlasting life in Heaven! So what’s the bother!

Just live on that is what God wants from us,

Punishment or maybe it is just to

Be a blessing to someone else here

So they can find afterlife without fear!

But Eternal our God who made us, He always was!

How can we understand what God only does?

His giving all, life on earth, included death!

Did Eternity quit?  Just a pause, a deep breath!
