AT ONE WITH CHRIST

In that everlasting Kingdom

What will happen?  I do not know!

I am no prophet just a poet,

But that is where I want to go!

.

.

Great intentions prospects aiming

Cannot quite make it on my own!

But it is my destination

Got to make it to God’s throne!

.

.

Who can get there that vast haven?

David, Jacob, Abraham?

Billy Sunday?  Billy Graham?

Or my father?  Or old Sam?

.

.

Sorry buddy, all unworthy!

“All have sinned and all fall short,”

If you would scrap the devils arrows

Have to build yourself a fort!

.

.

All those saints who have gone before us

Not excluding Samson, too (*)

Had a fort, their faith increasing

Without it one is faithless crew!

.

.

Faithless?  Yes!  For without Jesus

Without faith in Christ you are dead!

Be sure of it, if not in heaven

May as well have stayed in bed!

.

.

That rugged cross that is where Christ took them,

All my sins and yours!  Believe

On Jesus Christ’s propitiation

Eternal Life you will receive!

.

.

Believing now I do receive it!

Heaven is my eternal home,

Unworthy?  Yes!  Confess, receive Him!

He is ready to atone! (**)

(**) Atone – make two as one

PAIN AND SUFFERING

I shy away from suffering

Just cannot bear the pain!

I dread the very thought of all

That loss, no comfort gained!

.

.

Within the realm of serving Christ,

What consolation see?

He said, “If you suffer with Me,

You will also reign with me!”

.

.

Suffering seems a way of life,

All, a time or two…

Sure, hits us and we feel the pain

Just nothing one can do.

.

.

Except grin and bear it, do not you know

A scream once in a while

May surely help alleviate

And turn a weakly smile?

.

.

The smile comes through that sweat you know

As purity as can be!

Then cry a little, it is okay,

A reminder, do not you see–

.

.

That Jesus also suffered, not

Just on that rugged cross.

Not just painful beatings or

For sleep, He took a loss!

.

.

Yes, he suffered agony,

Long sleepless hours spent,

Cringing for lost souls in hell

He could not be content!

.

.

The thought of losing multitudes

To satanic endless pain

Constrained all impulses to stay safe

Then weep again and again!

.

.

Broken ribs, a hip, a thigh,

A pain one cannot reach,

Burning that burns on forever in

Hell!  So why cannot we teach–

.

.

How can we, what can we do now

To get this message out?

Where pain goes on forever, so

Must we scream and shout?

.

.

It seems that some are doomed for hell.

Just no place else to go.

This message of pure liberty,

Well someday they will know!

.

.

Tragically!

THE SKY

The sky so blue, as endlessly

Displaying sheer majesty!

Countless the stars, shining at night,

Such beauty revealed to me!

.

.

Appreciative?  Surely cannot help it!

Am I then a rock, dirt that shows

Underneath those dirty fingers of mine,

Or beneath my shoes that shine?

.

.

Been a joy to write stuff for you,

I pray it has helped a bit.

Not like semaphore but a true message

Like real!  From the Holy Writ!

.

.

“Count, consider, it all joy!”  Sure a struggle to feel,

But remember that rugged cross

On which He died as a sinner for all!

He paid the price for our loss!

.

.

“Come unto Me…” is that not what He said?

Most gracious invitation!

“I will come to stay all my days,”

And think of the compensation!

.

.

Everlasting life with Jesus above

Consider Eternity!

Consider no enemy to shove

Or hand down misery!

.

.

Then consider Jesus, no beginning, no end!

Mightiest Savior of all!

Creator!  Redeemer!  And true through the end!

And on His name we may call!

.

.

Consider also, life with Jesus, always!

Everlastingly!  With no more fear,

Just joy and peace, time without end!

Happiness!  Endless cheer!

.

.

Is this then the end?  But who can tell?

Is not the end the beginning?

Of something, something far better?

Brand new!  Limitless inning!

.

.

But who is to tell?  Anyone left?
