SUCH LOVE I

“Fear nothing and no one,”  man once said.

No, not too long ago, now he is dead!

Hell his home now with many others.

Contemplating Sisters and Brothers!

.

.

But enemies there, sure, hating all!

For Satan taught hate since the fall!

Hate one another just no place for love!

Love only for those sissies above!

.

.

God’s love purposely misunderstood,

“Just for those holier goody-good,

But I am a man, ride the range all day,

And when I play I know how to play!”

.

.

Cut the corners!  Free love the night long.

Dazzle with footlights and one more song!

Sing it again, Sam!  Sure, that wild one.

Filled with loving and mucho fun!

.

.

No!  These are the songs I love, Hymns of praise,

Praise my Redeemer all of my days!

Lofting my heart to His perfect love!

With other glad voices, praise above!

.

.

Above and within just how can I not?

Praise adoring with Heaven-bought!

Bought with a price blood He shed,

Nailed to that cross, suffered until dead!

.

.

Dead with the dying, but we did not stay,

In that damp tomb resurrection day!

Hallelujah!!!  He lives and not just above,

Lives in my heart with perfect love!

.

.

Life I now live in the flesh I give,

Back to My Savior, with Him to live.

Such love all former loves dispelling,

In the light of love so compelling!

SUCH A COST

Jesus, just the thought of You

Fills my heart with delight!

This world is no attraction now,

All I seek is Your light!

.

.

Your light, Lord, as revealed in Christ,

Light with brilliance that shines,

As I move in closer to You!

Savior, Redeemer, mine!

.

.

Had a vision, a glimpse of truth,

Savior’s face filled the sky.

Seemed far yet close and His presence

Dominated the eye!

.

.

Benevolence, loving kindness,

His eyes, His loving smile.

Seemed to grow brighter as He moved in,

Un-dimming all the while!

.

.

Gradually the face grew smaller!

Clarity was not lost!

The picture in His eyes I saw,

His death at such a cost!

.

.

Then that smile, such beauty there!

Brings joy forevermore!

Death is past, new life forever!

Eyes on that distant shore!

.

.

Kingdom of God,  in my heart!

Keeping my eyes on Him!

Near or far, He is always close by,

Brightness will never  d i m!

.

.

Sadness, times I may experience,

As eyes may drift away!

Following luster in fields afar,

Turn back that very day!

.

.

Return with tears, the sorrow real!

While I am still in the fold!

He has never withdrawn His love!

He is faithful who told…

“I will never leave nor forsake…”  Hebrews 13:5

THE SKY

The sky so blue, as endlessly

Displaying sheer majesty!

Countless the stars, shining at night,

Such beauty revealed to me!

.

.

Appreciative?  Surely cannot help it!

Am I then a rock, dirt that shows

Underneath those dirty fingers of mine,

Or beneath my shoes that shine?

.

.

Been a joy to write stuff for you,

I pray it has helped a bit.

Not like semaphore but a true message

Like real!  From the Holy Writ!

.

.

“Count, consider, it all joy!”  Sure a struggle to feel,

But remember that rugged cross

On which He died as a sinner for all!

He paid the price for our loss!

.

.

“Come unto Me…” is that not what He said?

Most gracious invitation!

“I will come to stay all my days,”

And think of the compensation!

.

.

Everlasting life with Jesus above

Consider Eternity!

Consider no enemy to shove

Or hand down misery!

.

.

Then consider Jesus, no beginning, no end!

Mightiest Savior of all!

Creator!  Redeemer!  And true through the end!

And on His name we may call!

.

.

Consider also, life with Jesus, always!

Everlastingly!  With no more fear,

Just joy and peace, time without end!

Happiness!  Endless cheer!

.

.

Is this then the end?  But who can tell?

Is not the end the beginning?

Of something, something far better?

Brand new!  Limitless inning!

.

.

But who is to tell?  Anyone left?

.

.

SEE HIM THERE

Savior, Redeemer, you came to be

Sacrificial Lamb for all, for me!

He took my place, assumed yours, too!

A sinners cross, what more could He do?

.

.

The One who knew no sin became

Spotless, He was without any shame!

Condemned Himself!  Death on a cross!

Reserved only for criminal lost!

.

.

Murderer’s, worst!  Under the sun!

He identified as though He was one!

Taking our punishment, lest we doubt.

Cross for criminals, could do without!

.

.

But one who recognized deity!

Cried out in pain,  “Remember me!”

To the Christ who took the sinners place

“This day…”  He exclaimed, “Saved by grace!”

.

.

If in this life only, we have hope,

Miserable we are!  Can only grope

In hopelessness, pretending joy!

Irreversible pain to annoy!

.

.

To wreck havoc, judgment is rendered!

As in the days of Noah, tendered.

Repeatedly God is warning,  “Escape

My wrath to fall, before it’s too late!”

.

.

As judgment as rendered in that day!

So now impending!  What is left to say?

“The wages of sin is death,” is there more?

Everlasting pain waits at the door!

.

.

But what of the Christ, who took our sins?

He took your place!  Did He die in vain?

Punishing death from beginning of time!

Torturous death!  Committed no crime!

.

.

Sure, he took a chance!  Gambled for me!

Did He know I would say, yes?  Be free?

What of the multitudes gone before?

A few repent.  Does He long for more?

.

.

He died for all but so few, it seems,

Separate themselves that He redeems.

How His heart must break for His lost!

After giving His life on that torturous cross!

.

.

I hear a sob from that cross anew,

“Father, forgive them they know not what they do!”

They spit on Him, mocked Him, hanged on a tree.

Creator of worlds, died there for me!

.

.

Of course, I wept!  Am weeping still

Because He died on that torturous hill!

My tears will not stop until I see Him there!

Arms to receive me, new joy to share!

.
