PERFECT THE SALVATION

A perfect work of art, that filigree

Gold and silver lining this tapestry!

Bejeweled splendor forever to behold!

By beauty expert’s eyes, passionless and cold!

.

.

No not lovers, just eyes to see

Observing, sure, so knowledgeably?

Paid to observe!  Just that!  No more!

And price this work of art, what is it for?

.

.

So, what price this One who made a claim

To divinity or deity, no not the same!

For deity applies to only One,

The Godhead!  Holy Spirit!  Father and The Son!

.

.

Many the signs and wonders this man performed!

Lazarus raised from dead!  And Self formed!

Do we not at Easter, recognize

A mighty triumph over all His foes!

.

.

Miraculous life, sure, start with virgin birth!

Countless deeds of mercy, healing the sick.

Many have tried since nor can they begin

To duplicate.  Who, then, can “forgive your sin”?

.

.

We come in Jesus’ name, not just a man.

Today still heals, coming in Jesus’ name.

Be not conformed, this world, but transformed

This change only God can perform!

.

.

What is real?  Life?  A few years then gone!

Heaven reality to lean upon!

This life a vapor.  What is left to build?

They that built skyscrapers, all fulfilled.

.

.

Life so short!  Only old men can see!

What lies beyond the tomorrow?  For you?  For me?

Life, real abundant!  So full and free,

Only then will we know, how abundantly!

.

.

Precarious positions, we are often assigned

In the service of our country.  Where peace of mind

Is challenged to the limit, our safety insecure!

“Sure death” the alternative, can we endure?

.

.

But forever security promised to believers

Trusting Jesus, He only can free us!

From fear of certain death, truly not to fear it!

Whether natural or combative in praise to receive it!

.

.

Can we face death as did the apostle,

“For me to die is gain!”  It is there in his epistle.

We know of a place built by God above

Sinners are accepted, yes, saved by His love!

WHEN GOD SAYS WHEN or THE CHOICE OF UNBELIEF

Jesus healed all who came to Him,

The sick, the lame, and the blind.

The lepers, those incurable,

Still today it comes to mind.

.

.

“A hypnotist!  A fake!” they cried.

“Just watch the disease will return!”

“A master craftsman, magician,

He, with Beelzebub, will burn!”

.

.

But their unbelief came from him,

The one who ‘believes and trembles’ (*)

And the self-deluded just grow and grow

As today Satan assembles!

.

.

“What more can you ask?  The pleasures

Of sin, do they not satisfy?”

“Come live as you please and when life

Ends in oblivion, forever lie!”

.

.

This is not a true statement,

As Paul sincerely declares,

Who saw and heard from Paradise (**)

Secrets beyond compare.

.

.

And well we know, have felt the heat,

Of hell from time to time.

Nirvana, oblivion, how can you believe

The devils insidious line?

.

.

And still many chose the devils lies,

Just cannot seem to help themselves.

Deluded they think ole Satan’s imps

Are cute little furry elves!

.

.

Did not do Lazarus a favor when

God hauled him from Paradise,

Unhappy return to a world of sin,

To answer the sisters cries!

.

.

Yes, Satan lies, as God is truth!

He raised the dead!  And again

They will be raised everlastingly

Just whenever God says, “When!”

PAST FORGIVENESS

“Father, forgive them for they do not know…”

He prayed from that cross for sinner below!

Who tortured, tormented then nailed Him there!

Jesus, who did nothing but show His care!

.

.

Untouchables, lepers He touched then and healed!

Could they not know what this action revealed?

The great God who heals, who raises the dead!

“Only wise God provides us with bread.”

.

.

Provides us with comfort, rest, when required.

Mary and John from that cross inspired,

“Behold thy Son!  Receive they mother!”

Brothers and sisters with one another.

.

.

Saw Him raise Lazarus, how could they not know?

This Jesus was God’s Son sent down to show

That believing on Him would mean their salvation!

As prophesied since Adam’s creation.

.

.

His seed should bruise the ‘Serpents head’

As man’s heel shall be bruised instead.

As the struggle continues, we against Satan, contend!

Victory is ours, Satan’s loss in the end!

.

.

With God deciding, how can we lose?

Just one way to lose when it is loss you choose.

But why would anyone chose such an end?

Understandably loss without a friend!

.

.

But we have a friend in Jesus we see

His promise He keeps, “I will never leave thee!”

Any separation, you can surely tell.

Say yes to Satan, he will take you to Hell!

SORRY

Well, of course, no money in it!

What makes the world go round?

Cannot do without it, to love it is sin!

A way to treat it I have found—

.

.

A necessary commodity

Purchasing things that you need.

But aside from that do not hoard it, right?

Do not let it go to seed!

.

.

Old farming expression, go to seed

As the weeds that spread when left.

Pull that weed, put it in the sack,

Bonfire tonight good effect!

.

.

The love of money is that seed,

Weed, root of all sin!

Contained within that love is the lust

To hold, embrace within!

.

.

“Money, I love it!”  My cousin once said.

I inadvertently cringed!

Learned later he owned half a township,

Dead now, trust he is not singed!

.

.

“Love of money the root of all evil.”

Money, I love it!  Do tell?

Truly do not know what happened later,

Except he died, I hope not in hell!

.

.

Greed, the desire to possess

To have, possess, to control.

“Hold them, fold them…”  Then in the end

Dead!  Never dying soul.

.

.

What then?  With the rich?

Nothing left to proclaim, had his way.

“I did it my way, truly I did…”

What now is left to say?

.

.

Cannot take it with you.

Rich man, from hell cried to Lazarus,

“Just the tip of your finger

A drop of water…”

Sorry!

.

GETHSEMANE

He walked on stormy waters, raised Lazarus from the dead,

Took tax money from fish’s mouth, this is what He said:

“With God all things are possible!  Only believe!”

Still the disciples hard of heart, could not receive.

.

.

Five thousand people fed one day from a child’s pitiful lunch.

“Cast your net on the other side…”  They did, pulled in a bunch!

Saved the lost, healed the sick!  What more must the Savior do?

Remove the blinders from our eyes?  Yes, He can do that, too!

.

.

Miracles the disciples saw!  Still could not believe!

Then they saw Him raised from the dead, just too hard to conceive.

Today we see a sinner saved, changed to righteousness!

We doubt the transformation for miracles, we dismiss!

.

.

In fact, we judge that twice-born son whenever he goes through hell.

Conceivably a trip so real it is difficult to tell

If sanity has left for good!  But then at last we see

A test!  God saw me through my own Gethsemane!

.

.

Others, too:  “Savior breathe an evening blessing e’er repose our spirits seal

Sin and want we come confessing!  Thou canst save and thou canst heal!

.

.

LIVING GOD

Brutality displayed that day,

Can never be explained!

Savagery within the hearts

Of sinful man contained!

.

.

They spat upon Him, ridiculed

With whips, His flesh was torn!

The mob of Pharisees gave vent

Miserable creatures deformed!

.

.

This miserable creature, Christ of God,

What was the charge trumped up?

Just every crime ever thought of

With some, the mob made up!

.

.

And a jolly time was had by all.

Then many thoughtfully

Picked up the cry, “Crucify!”

Everyone came to see.

.

.

“Who is the Christ?”  Could not careless!

Come on , it is party time!

Declare yourself an enemy!

Despicable His crimes!

.

.

But what was this crime charged to Him?

What had this god-man done?

He claimed to be the Son of God,

Yes, He claimed to be God’s Son!

.

.

So are not we all sons of God?

What is so bad about that?

But look, He really had healing powers!

So many had made contact!

.

.

Then too, consider Lazarus,

Already dead and gone!

“Lazarus, come forth!”  This friend called out!

And he did!  Grave rags adorned!

.

.

What can one say about that now?

Power over the grave?

Another thing, said that He was from Hell,

Your sordid soul could save!

.

.

And what about this clincher,

Himself seen alive and well,

By over 500 people, living!

His ascension to tell!

.

.

Actually, the only proof I need is this,

He lives within my heart!

.

.

PRAYER DOES!

Christmas is long gone!  Por favor!

Left no one lying on the floor!

Or dangling from the window there,

Or staggering along without a care!

.

.

Discovered, yes, oh so long ago, do not need beer!

Or that stronger stuff to give good cheer!

Guy who boasted, “I (hiccup) I know when to quit!”

Proved it to all, in a drunken fit!

.

.

Woke up at last in Hell’s sobering pen!

No peace at all in that hellish den!

Oh, how I wish!  But know it is too late!

Burn there while blaming it all on sad fate!

.

.

Lazarus, “Please bring water to cool my tongue!”

Remembering that story, God’s work is done!

Just thinking now, how it might be,

So glad that I turned to Calvary!

.

.

So many sinners have felt the prod.

Know how I should have said, yes, to God!

I have said, yes, oh so many a time,

Turning from back to life sublime!

.

.

So now I am old, hard getting around!

Of course, pray a lot!  For I have found,

That prayer does change and people, too,

As she kept praying  I found what to do.

.

.

Give the rest to my years to prayer,

Can  find answers and comfort there!
