MY SIN

The price was paid so long ago,

Christ took the death for you!

Cruel death of the cross we contrived,

Just what else could He do?

.

.

Death for sins, all anticipated

Ever since man’s beginning,

In that fullness of times, deliberate!

His death for you containing!

.

.

This substitution had to take place!

Sure His love for sinful man!

“Wages of sin is death!”  The exchange, this

Only God can!

Such substitution has to be accomplished

God’s love for sinful man!

.

.

The repetition sure for effect!

Can such expression be

Ever vibrant enough to

Capture His love for me?

.

.

This accomplishment, price paid in full.

What further could be done?

Son of God, yes, man’s Creator,

To die for everyone!

.

.

“Wages of sin, sure, death!”  All have sinned!

Fallen way short of projection.

God’s projection for all men, in sin

Lost, torn from protection!

.

.

Only God, a God’s protection hand (love),

Could make Him deny

His holiness, so spotlessly pure

To this though, we comply.

.

.

The thought of assuming all men’s sins

Dying in sin for us.

Who never knew sin, spotless Lamb of

God!  And we from the dust!

.

.

“Dust to dust,”  of all mankind said,

But of the body alone

Imperishable the soul lives on

Always with Christ who  atones!

.

.

Me

“GOD SO LOVED…” ISAIAH 9:6

“Lion of the tribe Judah”, “Bright and morning Star”

“His name shall be called, Mighty God…”  Ever near, yet far.

.

.

“Wonderful, Counselor, The blessed Prince of Peace.”

“…The increase of His government…It will never cease…”

.

.

“For unto us a Child is born,” Miraculous. “Son is given.”

This Son will be nailed to a cross, hands and feet nails driven!

.

.

This Son is nailed for our sins, upon a criminal cross!

This Son of God, God Himself!  Why should He suffer loss?

.

.

He took that cross for our sins.  He took my place up there!

The Sinless One assumed my loss, that no one else could bear!

.

.

Jesus, the only sinless man.”  No other man could show

Sinlessness to any degree.  Why God came below!

.

.

But before Christ came, a spotless Lamb, was sins sacrifice!

This lamb, this sinner presented, for it was sin’s price!

.

.

So “Behold, the Lamb of God,” John cried, “He who takes my sin.”

Only He can do it.  Receive Him!  Let Him enter in!

.

.

Just  what did He do, our Sacrifice?  He assumed all our shame.

He “became sin” and died there this is why He came!

.

.

Then I see Him, in the tomb.  Third day contemplating that death!

Those nails that has held Him there, drew a shuddering breath!

.

.

Why this torturous, hideous death?  Remember “Wages of sin…”

He took that death that we may find pure cleansing within!

.

.

All that we need, ‘Confess our sins’ to His forgiveness find!

The “Wages of sin is death!”  I choose life!  Now I have peace of mind!

.

.

God SO loved the world that He gave… and I accept!

SLAUGHTER HOUSE RELIGION

We sing of the cleansing blood of Jesus,

Many hymns proclaiming its worth.

It is not just the death of our Savior and

Not just His miraculous birth!

.

.

It is more, so much more, just think about it.

What is the Passover all about?

The blood of a perfect lamb was sprinkled

Or Israel would be lost without!

.

.

“Behold the Lamb of God,” the Baptist thundered!

The significance was plain to see,

The blood of the Lamb, God’s Lamb, was needed

Desperately for you and for me!

.

.

The scarlet thread still weaves through the pages

Of God’s Book, this Book of Life we know.

It is the blood of Christ that bestows life!

It cleanses and “washes white as snow”.

.

.

Why is His blood so indispensable?

And why no remission for sin?

“Without the shedding of His perfect blood”?

Because there is no life within!

.

.

Life is in the blood!  We must surely know!

But that life died with Adam’s fall!

A fresh transfusion necessity

Of Christ’s blood prescribed for all.

.

.

Just the blood of Jesus, God’s perfect Son,

The blood man possessed originally

Before his fall from grace, respecting man,

The blood God shed for you and me!

.

.

The only way we could be made perfect

Through that ‘Perfect Blood’ God shed that day.

So that is why a transfusion is required

And cleansing in God’s perfect way!

VERY GOD, VERY MAN

I slept last night where Jesus slept,

My back against the wall.

Humanity passed by all night

I could not sleep at all!

.

.

Disciples slept the sound of sleep

Hung heavy in the air.

The pressures of the day recalled

The need for slumber there.

.

.

But Jesus does He not convey

A superhuman need?

A driving force He cannot shrug

To banish sin and greed?

.

.

He is very old obeying thus

The need to sacrifice

Himself upon a cross of shame

To banish sin and vice.

.

.

He is Very Man in weakness shown

Cries out!  In His despair

“Why must I drink this cup of sin?”

Let Satan take the dare!

.

.

“You are the spotless Lamb of God

Not one is without sin.

As sinless You must take man’s sin

To death without, within.”

.

.

As Very God and Very Man

The Father “hid His face,”

From sin the substitute His Son

Demonstrating thus His Grace.

.

.

So by His Grace alone we are saved (*)

Not works!  He did it all!

As Very Man sins sacrifice

On Very God we call!

.

.

(*) Ephesians 2:8-9

THAT BITTER CUP

Jesus cried, “My God, My God why hast Thou forsaken Me?”

Gabriel wept a waterfall!  He could barely see!

“My Lord,” he sobbed, “It is because you are full of sin!”

The Father cannot look on sin, now you are that sin!

.

.

Remember how you saw man’s sins as in a filthy cup?

In the garden as you prayed, tempted to give up?

But then you drank that bitter cup because You knew God’s will!

The only way to save mankind and so you suffer still!

.

.

How I wish, my Friend, that I could die there in Your place.

Could take the spear, the thorns, the nails, and the disgrace,

But sadly now we know that You alone can be the One,

Fulfilling scripture; “Lamb of God…God’s beloved Son.”

.

.

It will not be long we will meet again, My Master, My King!

In three days you will arise again all heaven then will sing

And mankind their reaction, many ransomed ones

Rejoice together evermore as God’s beloved sons!

.

.

Great place for the Hallelujah Chorus.

.

GREAT IS THE LORD

Great is The Lord!  Can any be greater?

Worthy of praise, cannot you see?

The rocks and trees would cry out to honor

If man will not stoop, bend the knee!

.

.

Maker of all space, the galaxies

Endless by Him contained!

Then made the man in His own image!

Beasts of the fields remain.

.

.

Man alone can boast everlasting!

Created to walk with God!

As Enoch who “walked with God, and was not,

“For God took him,” aloft!

.

.

Who else is perfect?  None of this earth.

Jesus, God’s Son, stands alone

Perfect Lamb of God, man’s sacrifice!

Who else could for sin atone?

.

.

At one with God, “Through the blood of the Lamb.”

As pictured in Old Testament days

That lamb representing the Lamb of God

Whose blood was spilt for our ways.

.

.

Our sinful ways, guilty!  Each one

Everyone sheer bound for hell!

Has Lucifer won?  No!  Jesus shed blood

Once applied can make all well!

.

.

Not an over simplification this!  For

“Without the shedding of blood

There is no remission for sin,” at all!

Give thanks for the crimson flood.

.

.

Truly flood it seemed for in days long past

Animals sacrificed.

Represented the sins of every nature all

Contained on that cross tree.

.

.

Contained at last blood of The Lamb!

The Lamb of God who took

Every sin making possible that

All we need do is look!

.

.

Look to The Lamb for cleansing from sin.

Appropriate!  This He has done!

Whatever fluid representing His blood

Completed for everyone!

.

.

This is the blood of Christ, God’s Son,

To cleanse from unrighteousness

And fit us for heaven!  All who partake!

As we, our sins, confess!

.

.

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful

And just to forgive and cleanse…”

And “the blood of Jesus Christ, God’s

Son, cleanses us from all unrighteousness.”

.

.

ABIDE! JUST ABIDE!

How could we ever deserve?

Is this not why He died?

Did we not need a transfusion?

His perfect blood applied?

.

.

Adam and Eve from the garden,

They needed, as Abel and Cain,

Perfect sacrifice, Abel’s,

By the which he was slain!

.

.

The Passover Lamb, too, was needed,

Another symbol of the cross!

Blood on the doorposts and lintel,

Lamb of God suffered loss!

.

.

“Behold the Lamb of God!”  John cried!

What further proof do we need?

That Jesus’ blood was required,

Of course, The Savior must bleed! (*)

.

.

Why this provision required?

Could personal action suffice?

No!  “Our righteousness is as filthy rags.”

The Savior must pay sin’s price!

.

.

“The wages of sin is death!”  So He died!

Sin’s penalty, “Once for all,”

Was paid!  Our salvation is intact!

Just believe and on Him call!

.

.

Year by year animals are killed

Symbolism quite clear!  But

“Once for all His blood made provision!”

So we need to nevermore fear!

.

.

“What must we do then to be saved?

Receive Him!  Stay by His side

Believe, receive, what did Christ say?

“Abide in Me, Just Abide!”

.

.
