THREE CROSSES

Sleepless no, not Seattle.  Placenta, I believe.

Thoughts intruding through the night, what I receive

Three crosses on a hill.  What else there?

On one cross, criminal!  What to compare?

.

.

Cursing his plight; as he did all his life!

Mean thief and killer.  A real life of strife.

All he knew was to steel and to kill.

Cursing his vile life there on a hill!

.

.

Center cross, a different story is told.

People yelled, “Crucify!”  Sure, He had been bold

To heal the sick, forgive sinners, raise the dead!

“God alone forgives sins!”  Priests truly said–

.

.

“This man claims ‘Godhood’, crucify this man!”

We know God in Heaven forgives!  Only God can!

Impostor!  Blasphemer claiming to be God!

Sure, performs many tricks hucksters can do more!

.

.

Calvary crucified!  The end of His tricks!

So now if He is able to escape this fix?

A borrowed tomb, many friends mourned as they buried,

Soldiers guarded, later the Mary’s.

.

.

Remaining cross tells a different story.

“I had to do it!  See, he tried to kill me.”

“When You come into your Kingdom, Remember me.”

Suffering Christ heard!  Through pain, gritting teeth–

.

.

“This day, in Paradise!”  You hear this now,

With Me you are forgiven as I truly declare

Kingdom or Heaven!   Everlastingly we will share!

THE STORY BE TOLD

“A child shall be born,” Isaiah wrote,

“The wonderful…Prince of Peace…

The mighty God, our counselor… (*)

Whose kingdom shall never cease.”

.

.

Jeremiah too, prophetically

Predicted the king’s success

Saying that righteousness would increase

Through our Lord, our righteousness. (**)

.

.

So many years ago they wrote

These prophesies that we know

Were all fulfilled at Jesus birth

Some two thousand years ago.

.

.

And still today the magic lasts.

It cannot be denied

Though there are many additives

The centuries have supplied.

.

.

Come, take a trip, a Christian church

Hear the message, yes it is true

Even the gifts that the Magi brought

We give and receive ever new.

.

.

(*)  Isaiah 9

(**) Jeremiah 23:6

ENDURE OR LOVE

Been there, done that, what else is there?

Is there more?  I really do not care!

.

Seen enough to know I have had it!

This life stinks though many like it.

.

Take a good look all about you

Real bad stuff!  Can do without you!

.

What?  Find a cave and hibernate?

Let all out there, inebriate! (1)

.

The world to hell is going fast,

I just do not see how it can last!

.

I just do not see, oh, now I see!

Loving eyes look down on me!

.

Those eyes say, “Come, I will give you rest.” (2)

Get in on the very best!

.

The best of life awaits you here,

New life complete and free from fear.

.

“Come unto Me,” do not hesitate!

I offer life!  Why do you wait?

.

This life receive now joyfully!

From sin and self you now are free!

.

You are free to take a revised view

Of those despised who lived around you.

.

The rottenness that you despised

You mirrored.  Now you realize

.

That sin is sin!  That is why Christ died,

He took your sins, was crucified. (3)

.

“My life to you I now impart (4)

To love the lost, to have a part,

.

In kingdom building, to set free

The once despised you will bring to Me!”

.

“Is this not better than the cave

A hermitage, yourself a slave,

.

To pamper self and judge all others?

Now realize they are your brothers!

.

Prospective, that is, bring them in!

Endure?  No!  Love them from their sin!”

.

.

(1) Get drunk, have a fling

(2) Matthew 11:28

(3) If they had not crucified Him, He would have found someone

else to nail Him to that cross.  That is how much He loves you!

(4) Jesus speaking!  Listen to Him.  In your heart He wants in!

ONE CRIMINAL

Truly amazing, just think of it!

God loves everyone!

The thoughtless rabble paid to scream,

“Crucify!” God’s Son.

.

.

If you are truly the Son of God, save yourself

And us!  One crucified yelled!

Yeah, save yourself!  The rabble echoed

Of cheap liquor they swelled!

.

.

Scribes, the Pharisees, and priests

Observed with satisfaction

This rabble rouser will not bother us now!

His miracles are done!

.

.

But the other thief had few words and

Full of self condemnation

“Would you please remember me when

You come into Your kingdom?”

.

.

“This very day…in Paradise…”

The Savior’s heart in tune

You will be with Me, I promise!

In spirit they communed!

.

.

Sure, suffering is a normal thing.

This sin cursed world, we do!

Consider, if you will, the cross

Unleashed agony!  So true!

.

.

Horrific, unbearable, torture,

Not just spikes through tender flesh,

Belabor spit and insults hurled

Not fighting it, longing for death.

.

.

Wanting to die but that last breath,

Difficult to ignore!

Wrenching, struggling, mouth open wide

With gasping reaching for more–

.

.

Air!  But not there anymore!

Sheer blackness envelops all

In an instant!  Then brilliant light!

Answering heaven’s call!

.

.

“Father, forgive them!” the muffled cry,

“They know not what they do!”

I wondered with my sinful ways

Did I know?  Yes, it is true!

.

.

FORGETFUL ME

No matter how perfect the situation

There is always some fly in the soup.

I should have learned that a long time ago

Before I, like, flew the coop!

.

.

Contrariwise whatever the picture

A straightening can be done.

Something that can be learned from it all

Then back to, like, having fun!

.

.

Or whatever your posture was before

Not to say, fun is bad!

Work makes for better accomplishment!

Best antidote for sad!

.

.

Deliverance from evil, “Thine is the Kingdom,”

Power, glory forever!

While I am struggling, God is protecting

And will He leave me?  Never!

.

.

That is not to say that I am close to perfection,

Can perfection ever be?

Nearest I can get to that station is

When He is close to me!

.

.

But then has He not promised to never leave?

Keeps that promise, it is true!

So if it should seem that He is far away

The one who has left is you!

.

.

There is only one way to get back to Him,

Since I am the recalcitrant one,

I need kneel at that cross!  Sob at His feet!

God’s one crucified Son!

.

.

They surely foresaw Him crucified in the

Old Testament days long past.

Job’s prediction, “I know My Redeemer lives!

And I will see Him at last!” (*)

.

.

What then about my Savior and Lord?

I now see Him suffering for me

It is not pity alone, though He took my place

On that cruel cross tree!

.

.

Will my ardor for Him ever cool down?

Of course!  Just humanity!

So prone to forget until I see that cross

And know what He did for me!

.

.

(*) Job 19:23-27 read it

.

ALTOGETHER SUFFICIENT!

Just what did that poor soul miss that he desired

A fine palace and crown up yonder?

When we all get to heaven what a day!

We will be home!  No longer wander!

.

.

Considering song I remember from the so long ago

“Wrote my name down for a palace and crown,”

So then how can I help being happy and free?

Just no more begging or wanting for me!

.

.

Now if everyone gets a palace and crown,

Just kings up there will I see?

Just no one up there to rule over, at all!

Thank you, Lord for this fine country!

.

.

Everlastingly means forever and just God,

Only God is eternal, no beginning,

Always was!  No counting of ages He,

He, Himself did everything!

.

.

By Himself!  Sure nothing in this universe exists

Without His thought!

Sure, He thought everything into existence!

Stars, oh, and that frog that you caught…

.

.

Yes, once you were just an embryo then

A miracle of love!

God so loved that He gave!

Us to reign above!

.

.

Reigning sure, like, be my own boss,

Ruling my own kingdom!

Will be like the angels above!

Now where did that come from?

.

.

It is scripture, you know, God’s own word!

I did not make it up!

You know good spirits that keep us safe

Guardians who take us up!

.

.

Some glad day to be with Him!  Heaven!

Everything new, attitudes!

Communing surely and the way we will act

And think in all that we do!

.

.

Spanking new and so different!

With no night there, how sufficient!

.

.

the Sam 06.10.14

SAVIOR, MASTER, LORD, KING

Weeping Savior in the Garden of prayer,

Suffering Master!  You will find Him there!

Crying out, knowing His cruel death,

Will capture His very last breath!

.

.

This intersession for children of men,

Pleading, “Oh God, forgive!  Please do not condemn!”

“Father, forgive them!  They truly do not know…”

Their thoughts are frivolous, where to go?

.

.

Ashes from beauty now is it not true,

To turn this about, there is much to do!

We work for the night approaches fast!

Maybe soon that God’s mercy is past!

.

.

Satanic darkness dispelling light,

This then the reason to continue to fight!

The good fight of Faith may not be long,

Before the troops sing a different song.

.

.

The song of God’s wrath against man’s sin!

Still Christ on that cross died!  Cleansing within!

Powerful Christ from dying Master

No rotting flesh conquered disaster?

.

.

In shimmering beauty transfigured the Christ,

Ascending Lord promotes pure light!

Suffering Savior now glorified Lord!

How can this be, once denied now adored!

.

.

Miraculous God!  Can Kingdom destroy?

Worshiping Him best for this old boy!

For this old boy has been saved by Grace!

I know someday I will see His Face!

.

.

I will know Him then across those Golden Sands!

By those nail scars on His feet and hands!

Adore Him forever!  Bask in His love!

Yes, Love!  There is no hate in Heaven above!

.

.

Gone miraculously up there!

Eyes once blinded by despair!

.
