THE TRUE WORD

Contingent upon nothing!  God’s Word does not comply

To sophisticated finesse or try to pacify

The arrogance of fledglings who claim to know it all,

Who trip on that stumbling block where Christ is all in all!

.

.

He is certainly a good man!  But then how could that be?

For was He not a liar in His claim to Deity?

Liar or good man?  Neither one for He was (is) God!

All His words and works proved that He was Lord of Lords!

.

.

King of Kings, who, in His love, proved true majesty!

Dying on the cross for all, setting captives free!

“A prophet, like, Mohammed…” oh please, give me a break!

“Mohammeds’ bones are on display.”  So Jesus was a fake?

.

.

Our Savior left the tomb complete, ascended to the throne!

“I go to my Father,” He said, and He was not alone.

Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; the Three in One, all there!

The Blessed Trinity!  One God, the fairest of the fair!

.

.

Miracle of miracles, completeness, blest Trinity!

God gave His Son, Jesus died, the Spirit comes to me.

Look about you, miracles!  In everything you see!

And you will see another in God’s Eternity!

.

.

(“Who (Jesus) for the joy that was set before Him, endured the cross;

despising the shame, and is now at the right hand of God,”)

ETERNAL EVERLASTING

“Coming down from God out of heaven?”

New heaven and earth shall be

Forever glorify our King of Kings,

Then we will know eternity!

.

.

Eternity means no more than life evermore!

Eternity is God designed!

Whatever man may boast, all he can do

Only God!  Man halts at that line!

.

.

We will live forever but God always was!

God created everything!

Admit that you cannot understand it all!

Finitely we to Him cling!

.

.

The stars above He has counted them all!

He gave to each one its own name! (1)

Pleiades of Taurus, Antares all the stars

And each one unique, none the same!

.

.

Great is God’s power!  His understanding, too!

Infinite His wisdom! Agree? (2)

Beyond imagination beyond all our means

We are but mortality!

.

.

So now consider His mercy and His grace,

Not just His power but His love!

“Heals the brokenhearted, binds up our wounds.” (3)

Fits us for heaven above!

.

.

A mighty blast of thunder!  Spinning galaxies!

A sparrow falls, what?  The Father sees?

Not only sees He cares!  He reaches out!

By His Spirit, He our spirit frees! (4)

.

.

What more do we seek?  What else do we need?

God’s promise, “Each need I will supply.”

Happiness today!  “Joy unspeakable,” always

Everlastingly.  “The sweet bye and bye!”

.

.

(1) Psalm 147:4

(2) Psalm 147:5

(3)Psalm 147:3

(4) We are God’s sparrows, His eye is on us!

(With a lot of help from God!)

MOTHER, FATHER, EARTH

Mother Earth lures me, draws me but not to herself

To her Creator!

.

Not incredibly I am drawn by the one true thought

To one true mother!

.

Mary, though a virgin, through mortal pain mothered

The Man, Christ Jesus.

.

Distinctive as a Man and sinless as true God

He came to free us!

.

A mystery?  True!  Look about, what is not mysterious?

Can you name one tree,

.

One flower, one animal, one fossil, one insect,

One star, or one galaxy?

.

That is not surrounded by mystery?  Then how about

One you and one me?

.

I cannot boast a clone nor can you, nor do I care

For another one,

.

Of me to dredge the depths, or scale the heights, or even

Dream of things I have done!

.

But for the consummative, the unthinkable,

See this mystery:

.

The Kings of Kings, The Lords of Lords!  Designer!  Creator!

One who died for me!

.

.

Oh God, I thank You!

.

.

Most sincerely,

MY LIFE I GIVE

A gift I would bring for the King of Kings.

What kind of gift would portray

The love in my heart?  Money or things?

No, owns everything!  What can I say?

.

.

The cattle on every hill, yes, all His!

And money?  He does not need!

So what can I give from this yearning soul?

A mite, the hungry to feed?

.

.

‘Proportionate giving’, can this excuse

The pittance that I alone

Can give, in love, for a starving world?

No, this can never atone.

.

.

But it helps!  A tenth is not very much

And giving extends far more

Than that which I have in my hand to give,

For the One that I adore!

.

.

You love her, you love him, what can I say?

Give him, give her, a part

A part of yourself!  What more is there?

Just give him or her your heart.

.

.

Same with the Lord, just how to express

Your love for everything

That He, the Lord, has done for you,

Your life!  What less can you bring?

.

.

BY INVITATION ONLY

In the beginning God – not gods!

The King of Kings and Lord of Lords!

No lesser gods He created us!

“In His image,” but from the dust.

We stumble and fall at His creation

We deliberately fall every nation

Proclaiming gods persistently

God’s that we can feel, smell and see!

Face it! We just worship ourselves!

We place our pictures on our shelves!

We serve whom? Ourselves every day!

“No, we worship God!” That is what we say.

We worship God! Do I fool myself?

Whose picture is that on that shelf?

I am in His image, I left that tree!

I pamper myself, my God is me!

How do I contradict this sham?

Only God says, “I Am that I Am!”

So what can I say in view of this?

Only that ‘Ignorance is bliss!’

HOME AT LAST

“In all things give thanks.”  This I am learning to do!

Greed breeds corruption, know well this is true!

So greedy for comfort can this be a sin?

Yes!  If your comfort eliminates Him!

.

.

Your comfort zone may just lead you astray!

I am peaceful now, you are dismissed, go away!

Could this be your thinking and can you admit

Struggling for comfort can lead you adrift?

.

.

“Woe unto those complacent in Zion!”

Can one become stilted, solid as iron?

Stilted, complacent, all is right in the world!

Peaceful, I am satisfied, I am in control!

.

.

This stilted emotion pomposity,

Can suddenly lead one to real misery!

One can become stilted in Zion’s hall,

Until it is pomposity, wall to wall!

.

.

Forget all this prideful pomposity!

God is still ruling!  We in humility

Must recognize the One so far above,

Who still considers us in His love!

.

.

In this give thanks!  God is still on the throne!

As His children, we are cared for, never alone!

There is coming a day, all misery past!

Praise to the King of Kings!  Home at last!

.

TEMPTATION

Temptation to the pride thing

That is what it is all about!

We think we make that bell ring

And that is  why people shout!

.

.

I waved that grenade in full view

Of the enemy down there

Behind those trees, sure, they watched!

As I planted it with care!

.

.

Booby trap, sure, the booby, me,

Did the squad leader know

What this fool was up to there?

If he did, did not show!

.

.

He handed me the stuff I needed!

The string, everything.

Then that extra hand-grenade

Sure, I the ding-a-ling!

.

.

Who never carried anything!

Squad Leader seemed to have it all!

All this he seemed to do gladly

Did he want me to fall!

.

.

Aware I was called to The Service,

Like, told him all one night!

Service of the “King of Kings”

After this stupid fight–

.

.

And that is why I heard Padre,

Sky Pilot, and Preach the next day

After my plant had succeeded!

And we were well on our way–

.

.

To next area of combat

Climbing up that hill

Sure, we had to keep staggering up

To make another kill!

.

.

Is not that what we do in combat?

The Major orders, “Go!”

Orders are orders, sure, we obey!

While he orders below!

.

.

My King Jesus leads upward!

His orders flow,

Compelling, inducing always

So I know where to go!

.

.
