HAVE SOME JOY!

One out of ten may enjoy poetry,

Maybe even less!

But you may know why,  why that would be

What I do the best!

.

.

Ever since my very first poem,

Accepted I have had the bug!

Even King David’s poetry, Psalms,

Not stuffed under the rug!

.

.

Sold billions of copies, in a Book,

Bible, you should know

Will sell even more until Jesus comes

Helps Christians to grow!

.

.

Millions have memorized Psalm 23

“My Shepherd…” God is near!

He leads, He feeds!  And satisfies!

What then have I to fear?

.

.

Millions take comfort, it is written,

“I will fear no evil!”

Your rod and staff comfort bring

Need not fear the devil!

.

.

Sure he tempts but he cannot force!

Christ’s table satisfies!

Better than Satan has to offer!

With his tempting lies!

.

.

What can be better than Heaven above?

Devil may promise joy,

Sure, the bilious kind ever ending with

Hangover to annoy!

.

.

And in the end, what promise have I?

Of satisfaction?  Hell!

Heaven alone, everlasting joy!

What else can ring my bell?

.

.

Or keep the bells of Heaven ringing!

It is so hard to conceive

Of a God who longs to have us

Home!  Cannot wait to receive!

.

.

Of course, the place He has prepared for us

So impossible to fathom

When God, like, passes a plate way beyond

Anything known,says, “have some”!

HIGH THE REACH

Need way more good thoughts less of the bad.

More of the happy!  Far less of the sad!

More about Heaven, of course, reaching high!

Air there is thin, but when Jesus is nigh.

.

.

Then purity of air and the breeze

Where beautiful flowers, tall as the trees,

Spread their fragrance throughout everywhere!

No need for artifacts, pretend to compare!

.

.

Perfumery needed beneath God’s domain!

To cover uncleanness, always the same,

Since Satan won, in that garden down there,

Only to lose our Heaven so fair!

.

.

Pure delight far above the sin land,

Where one can feel Satan’s heavy hand,

But no longer felt!  Sure, he is no more!

Cast out!  Unable to reach Heavens shore!

.

.

Delightful the living, no tempter around!

Deflated, defeated, and deep underground!

Satan forgotten!  Just Jesus abiding!

Goodness and joy forever confiding!

.

.

Forever!  If tired, of course, there is rest!

But with bodies glorified the very best

Is yet to come, when in spirit you fly

Transporting forever, just never die!

.

.

So have you considered just where and how?

Depends on whom or to what you kow-tow!

Stuff and things in Hell!  All together!

Down yonder with the best:  stormy weather!

.

.

If walking with Jesus, no need to fear!

Continue that joyous walk!  Ever near,

Just how can one lose?  Sure, lean on His arms!

Resting in Jesus, nothing alarms!

.

.

Of course, I want to see Him!

Look upon His face!

I AM SCUM?

Someday I shall be like Him for I will see Him as He is.

This is not inconceivable the desire is not amiss.

.

.

To be more like The Master in thought, in word, and in deed

Is desirable and natural not signifying greed.

.

.

For geed is not included in the spirit-fruits we see

Gentleness and kindness these will last eternally.

.

.

Patience, love, joy, and peace continue evermore

They litter the fair streets of that everlasting shore!

.

.

The brightest smile imaginable will greet you over there

Whether angel or first arrival the greeting will not be rare!

.

.

Listen up!  We are bought with the blood of the Savior.

We are justified and cleansed from all debased behavior.

.

.

Just as if I had died but God did it for me.

I am cleansed, I am made perfect, I am now forever free!

.

.

Was not righteousness imputed to Abraham by faith?

Reconciled and credited, giving then a perfect slate? (*)

.

.

The witnesses of Hebrews 12, great cloud of scummy folk,

All anticipated heavens joys imputed, not revoked! (**)

.

.

I am scum but I am a child of God!  Please elucidate!

For if I should remain scum I may miss my date!

JUST CONTEMPLATING

Just what is heaven like?  Not too much comes to mind.

There is happiness complete!  But mostly undefined.

.

.

Descriptions often swarm of favorite spots on earth,

Giddy thrills complete with laughter, chills and mirth.

.

.

But some joys more subdued contingent not on place,

Dependent not on fixtures, guy toys, or pretty face.

.

.

What then can we say about this vast unknown?

Paradise, Third Heaven, so much to Paul was shown!

.

.

“Unlawful,” were his words regarding what he saw. (*)

Kept true to his vision.  He did not break God’s law!

.

.

But I had no such vision or law containing me.

All imagination and guess what it comes free!

.

.

Does not the bible tell us to encourage one another

With our future habitation with each other forever?

.

.

Consider God, The Father, loving us the way He does.

Would He deny any to those He dearly loves? (**)

.

.

Consider too, the suffering He bore for you and me,

That we may live in heaven with Him eternally!

.

.

So imagine what you will, you cannot exceed His love!

For your complete enjoyment, He placed galaxies above.

.

.

Many mansions without end!  Think there is room for you?

Would not be surprised!  With everyday something new!

.

.

So come and go with me to my father’s home

Where it is not against the law to investigate or roam!

.

.

Where you will never be kicked out for lack of rent to pay

Play with the stars and the satellites all day!

.

.

Now consider Jesus, who for the joy He foreknew

Endured the cross, bore the shame, did all He could do–

.

.

To prove His love, take us there, Third Heaven, Paradise,

His greatest joy to take us home.  All by His device!

ETERNAL EVERLASTING

“Coming down from God out of heaven?”

New heaven and earth shall be

Forever glorify our King of Kings,

Then we will know eternity!

.

.

Eternity means no more than life evermore!

Eternity is God designed!

Whatever man may boast, all he can do

Only God!  Man halts at that line!

.

.

We will live forever but God always was!

God created everything!

Admit that you cannot understand it all!

Finitely we to Him cling!

.

.

The stars above He has counted them all!

He gave to each one its own name! (1)

Pleiades of Taurus, Antares all the stars

And each one unique, none the same!

.

.

Great is God’s power!  His understanding, too!

Infinite His wisdom! Agree? (2)

Beyond imagination beyond all our means

We are but mortality!

.

.

So now consider His mercy and His grace,

Not just His power but His love!

“Heals the brokenhearted, binds up our wounds.” (3)

Fits us for heaven above!

.

.

A mighty blast of thunder!  Spinning galaxies!

A sparrow falls, what?  The Father sees?

Not only sees He cares!  He reaches out!

By His Spirit, He our spirit frees! (4)

.

.

What more do we seek?  What else do we need?

God’s promise, “Each need I will supply.”

Happiness today!  “Joy unspeakable,” always

Everlastingly.  “The sweet bye and bye!”

.

.

(1) Psalm 147:4

(2) Psalm 147:5

(3)Psalm 147:3

(4) We are God’s sparrows, His eye is on us!

(With a lot of help from God!)

VERY SOON

So there I was in the middle of it, this river so clear and wide,

And bright it was from a hidden source and I had no place to hide!

.

But why should I hide?  I thought to myself.  There is nothing around here to fear!

This ‘River of Life’ from the source of all life radiates nothing but cheer!

.

The water was calm and crystal clear and cool as an evening breath.

And strangely, I thought, there is feeling here!  Just does not seem like death!

.

But is was; in memory I felt the pain, the blackness of night,

The slipping away from reality, the loss of feeling and sight.

.

But look at me now!  Oh, look at him!  (The stranger running ahead.)

I followed him though I knew not why.  It was as though I was being led!

.

Impulsively I kept following on; I felt his exuberance, too!

Soon I was leaping as high as he with joy, so crazy and new!

.

“Come!” he cried, his arms flailing wildly!  “Where?” I answered but ran!

He plunged in the river then I plunged, too.  Together we laughed and swam!

.

“Up there on that hill, the heights above, the city we will see from there!

“Up there, the center of all our light!  Our Savior beyond compare!”

.

Recognition then dawned!  We rolled in the sand hugging and laughing for joy!

He had died of the plague, so many years past, when I was but a small boy.

.

Father and son reunited at last!  What could be better than this?

“Son,” father said, “You have not seen half.  Soon you will experience true bliss!”

.

Same age now, though ageless we ran!  Tirelessly and strong!

Soon mother, brothers, relatives, friends comprised a glad, joyous throng!

.

The City appeared, ‘The City of Light!’  So bright and yet without glare.

I just could not wait!  I ran ahead to be welcomed by Jesus up there,

.

But wait I must!

Just keep in touch!

.

.

Soon and very soon we are going to see The King!  Hallelujah!

NOT FOR SALE

My poetry is love, love is not for sale.

I give it away.

Whether accepted or not I still trust it

As a gift to say

What I want!  When I pray I do not choose words

To make prayer sound good,

(If I do at times it is not acceptable)

As sincere prayer should

Be a happy, angry, or embittered cry

A cry from the heart.

A cry that makes mute the sounds of nature’s song

Inviting joy to depart!

So, the, words of my song, though brash, brazen,

Or crude will have to do.

Accept or reject or shrug it off, it is done!

Response?  Up to you!

I care not.  Yes, I do!  Your response to

One so insecure

Is important!  I so dislike rejection!

I cannot long endure

The slight of scorn, the mocking, though subdued,

Hurting just a bit

Can never change my mind.  For this is my gift of

Love, this is my gift!
