TRUST REGARDLESS

Dependence on God is His perfect design.

He always comes through and He is always on time!

.

.

Whatever we may feel otherwise not true,

He has you best interests for He truly loves you!

.

.

Just why did He die?  I truly think you know.

If you alone were lost, He would still to Calvary go!

.

.

You really can trust Him to lead you through this life!

This life full of conflict, disenchantment, and strife!

.

.

“All things work together for good,” it is His word!

And “He will supply your needs,” this too you have heard!

.

.

At the end of this road He is still by your side,

And He will lead you to bliss with Him to reside!

.

.

Depend on Him no matter, no matter the test!

The trial will not last!  You do know He knows best!

.

.

While heading for glory trusting in The Lord.

Keep depending on His Word, we cannot less afford!

.

.

When praying for peaceful sleep the promises are there!

Thank Him for the answer, then know His tender care!

.

.

But remember, if you are weak and your faith is small

Just keep on trusting Jesus (*) He is your all in all!

.

.

(*) No, He is much more than that.  So compassionate,

      so understanding!  Thank you, Lord!

SIDE STEPPING

“I do not deserve,” “I am not good enough,”

Neither side will win!

For ever since Christ died for you

Ignoring Grace is sin!

.

.

It is free.  “Nothing is free,” you say.

Exactly why you lose.

Raised to feel that nothing is free,

You just sit back and choose.

.

.

Guess I will go the legalistic way,

Keep the law and pass.

You may be good for several days

But it just will not last.

.

.

Dependence a good word to learn.

Christ took your sins and died!

Because the “Wages of sin is death” (1)

He died!  Was crucified!

.

.

Salvation is yours once you depend

On Him who paid sins price!

It is free to all because Christ made

That single sacrifice!

.

.

Now when I sin I still depend (2)

On that one death, He died.

I come confessing, He forgives, (2)

I cannot be denied. (3)

.

.

His word is good, He keeps His word,

Whatever you may think!

The water of life is free to all (4)

All you need do is drink!

.

.

(1) “…but the gift of God is eternal life.”

(2) 1 John 1:9

(3) But David warns against presumptuous sinning.

(4) Revelation 22:17

THE PATH FOR YOU

God is leading always; you may not feel directed,

The wilderness engulfs you, lost you feel rejected.

Jesus was rejected, rejection so complete

That only two knelt at His nail-pierced feet!

Just how lonely are you?  Does no one love or care?

You are in good company, you this with Jesus share!

He died for you rejected so that you need not fear

Ever being lonely for He is always near!

To comfort and to guide you although you may not see

A pattern or His footsteps, He still says, “Follow Me!”

We follow by believing by trusting in His Word,

Waiting and listening for that ‘still small voice’ you have heard.

Many times you have heard it, a clear and gentle prod,

“This way, walk ye in it,” the gentle voice of God!

Sometimes the path seems darkened no presence seen or felt.

Again you are in good company, Jesus, as He knelt

Alone in the ‘garden’ the weight of sin He bore.

The sin of all the ages, sins vilest filth and gore!

“Let this cup pass from Me,” He groaned but now we know

The path that led to Calvary, one way we need not go!

.

.

He went there for us!!

DEEP SEEDING

In the glory of the heavens

How can anyone come close

To numbering the stars out there?

You would surely get a dose–

.

.

Of eyeball circles,

Wanting to deliver

One star from another where

Some seem to merge together.

.

.

Countless!  Numbering impossible!

With just part of the sky

Visible to the telescope, not

To mention the naked eye!

.

.

Numberless, like, the sands of the sea.

Countless may come closer to fact

Than an exaggerated number out there

Giving number to the birds in the sky.

.

.

Coming within a fraction

But that is what my God can do!

My God of compassion!

.

.

Countless?  Numberless?  God knows all!

Every tree, every plant that grows!

Made them all, the plants and trees!

What does He not know?

.

.

Knows my thoughts, dreams, concerns,

Sure, knows my every need!

“Cattle on a thousand hills…”

In pleasant pastures feed!

.

.

Sure, “God will take care of you”

Let Him!  Trust Him!  Believe!

“He will never leave nor forsake!”

“Ask and you shall receive!”

.

.

Of course, we have done wonders

Through Christ’s cross heeding,

But only God creates life!

Through His word, seeming!

.

.

Spread the word, God sows the seed!

NEW ORLEANS

So sad the cries we hear repeated

Again and again on the news,

“My child is missing” or “He was last seen”

“On a roof” or “I have no clues.”

.

.

One woman trying to hold back tears

Valiant attempt but soon gave in.

“My son is missing” finally broke down!

Tears that she could no way begin—

.

.

To hold back!  And I really do not care

Whether red, yellow, black, or white,

Big or skinny it does not matter

For all are precious in His sight!

.

.

And if the Lord cares then we should, too.

But what can I do?  I cannot go!

So much we can do!  Have you ever thought

Of prayer?  We cannot being to know—

.

.

The power contained in this simple act.

And He has commanded, “Pray always.”

“With all prayer and supplication” and

He will answer all those who pray!

.

.

“Ask and it shall be given,” He promised!

Do we believe His word is true?

“Pray without ceasing,” yes, He commanded!

It is not the simplest thing to do!

.

.

“Pray with all supplication”, not easy!

Have you ever done it or tried?

A need realistic so heavy it brought you

To your knees, you broke down and cried?

.

.

You do not know the meaning of prayer, if not

If you have never fasted or given

Yourself to fill in this unselfish purpose

If not by the Spirit driven!

THAT SPECIAL DAY

No inspiration, what I know,

Helps very little since to show.

My sense will not make sense at all

Unless I on the Scriptures call!

.

.

Why did God say, “I will supply

All of your needs…” I wonder why?

Could it really actually be

That God in heaven cares for me?

.

.

Oh, yes, He cares!  And do not forget

Do not worry about that old mind set

That tells you, God could never care,

Got His own thoughts way up there!

.

.

Can you forget the magnitude

Of our God who will not intrude,

Considering your own affairs,

Yet proving that He really cares?

.

.

Look, He gives the early morning sun!

That solar blaze that thaws the numb

Fingers so that they can write

Expressions, thoughts that bring to light–

.

.

Some principles that, if forgot,

Can make your day a senseless blot!

So may I now presumably

Offer you what is so plain to see—

.

.

That if you would have your day start right

Not ending like some senseless blight,

Consider what God has to say

In His Word!  Then start your day!

.

.

P.S.  His promises help us to see we need to start out prayerfully!

NEVER ALONE

I love you, Lord, and I lift my voice

In praise to You. You were my last choice.

Sure, I tried the world, there were many things

That I loved and lost, like birds on the wing!

With flattering words and undulating forms

Hiding vanity, subtlety hidden thorns.

“Come and go with me!” They said and I went.

I awoke in time, they were not heaven-sent.

I remembered my vows, found a girl who cared.

Made a life with her that we gladly shared.

Through thick and thin, mostly it was thin,

But we always felt that through Christ we would win.

Everywhere we found hungry souls who came,

Not a lot, but we went in Jesus’ name!

He never left us, was near all the time,

Often times unfaithful but when I would align–

And return to His side, He would always receive

And renew me and bless! Oh yes! I believe!

How can I doubt when He walked by me side?

Sometimes through darkness but still as my guide.

I will never forsake Him, though dark clouds should hide

His face for a time. I know He will abide

By my side, by our side, my wife and I

And take us both to Heaven when we die!

Of course we were not worthy but depending on Him

Who “will never leave us” through brightness or dim.

Through sunshine or shadows whatever we go,

He will always be with us! His Word tells us so!

“I will never leave thee not forsake thee…”
