FOUR CROSSES

Four crosses on that hill I see

The 4th one is mine!

Must Jesus bear a cross by Himself

Rest of us just shine?

.

.

No!  There is a cross for Christians all!

Literally, no!

Some guy thought it that way, I guess

Results:  his name did show!

.

.

Not a pleasant disfigurement!

Happy?  Tell the world, no!

Outskirts of a city in

Old Mexico!

.

.

This fanatic attempting to prove

Simply that he could!

Or what else?  Who then can tell?

Did not turn out good!

.

.

Did he consider, like, sins of all

Or only his own?

Maybe just a show off posture.

We should not condone!

.

.

Could anyone take the Savior’s place?

Of course not a one!

Jesus, The Only Perfect man

As God!  Yes, God’s Son!

.

.

Yes, God, as man, the perfect was tempted

God-man must endure!

For 40 days temptation raged!

But endured pure!

.

.

Complete proof that Jesus was (is) God!

Further proof desired?

Crucified, buried, arose the grave!

God!  Indeed!  Inspired!

.

.

What else required?  More proof needed?

Real proof, deep in my heart!

This Superman Jesus is everywhere

And your invitation is a start!

.

.

To show the world what God can do!

First in cleansing from sin!

Then a change, sometimes gradual but sure!

As He enters in!

.

.

Takes over, you bet everything!

Gradually with some.

Jesus is patient.  Finally proves

True before day has, like, run.

WELCOME HOME PILGRIM

I do not quite know what is happening

But then I do not much care,

Because as I dwindle down with age

The will to care is not there.

.

.

It is probably a good thing

To be insensitive,

You are less inclined to worry about

How long you have got to live.

.

.

Of course, you have got to worry some,

What else you got to do?

I cannot climb trees no more

It hurts to tie a shoe.

.

.

I am going home, it will not be long.

That effervescent glow

Reflecting from my shining down

Contends I want to go!

.

.

“Well, where you all going?” you ask.

And I say, “Where do you think?”

I much prefer my heavenly home

To that infernal stink!

.

.

“What makes you think you have a choice?”

“Not think, my friend, I know.

I am prepared for heaven’s domain!

The Bible tells me so!”

.

.

If you believe in Christ, God’s Son;

Confess your sins and pray,

You too can have this confidence

To hear the Savior say:

.

.

“You may enter ransomed child,

It is nothing that you have done.

I died for you!  I paid sin’s price,

So welcome home, my son!”

IN PARADISE, EVEN ME

Thief on a cross, many more like him.

Converted by Christ from life of sin.

Repentant, he comes defensively

Plaintive the cry, “Remember me!”

.

.

Without hesitation, “This very day,

Be home with Me, to live and to stay!”

Confess his sins?  Did not Jesus know?

Make restitution?  How could he go?

.

.

Why do we make it so hard to enter?

Christ standing there, the very center

Says, “This day with Me!  My home above!”

So we are accepted, our home in love!

.

.

He lets us know what He wants us to do.

Not cut and cooked, like, a bowl of stew.

Make it easier, like, walk in the park.

Do it by day, if afraid of the dark.

.

.

Did it for me, cannot remember his name,

But up in heaven it will be the same.

Will not fault me for a bad memory,

Hey you up there in heaven I will see.

.

.

I think of Mitch that twitching hand tells

Take to heaven cannot stand that hell!

A believer?  Yes, glad you made it, son!

War is over, that day is done!

.

.

Cummerford, Floto, no neither one

But how should I know?  I am not God’s Son!

He died for everyone by that tree!

Praise God!  Oh yes, He died for me!

THE KEY

“From sea to shining sea,” we have gone,

No harbor which to lean upon.

The people seem consistently

To be the same from what I see.

.

.

There is Thomas, Richard, Harry, too.

Not too much that they cannot do!

Honest labor is what I see

Living easy just is not for me!

.

.

A little sweat do not hurt one bit!

Dirt will, yeah, do not have a fit!

Wash it off, like clean!  Brand new!

Another dirty job to do!

.

.

Whole lot of water used, you know,

Hey!  That is the only way to go!

Dirt accumulates and then

Just wash again and again!

.

.

Hearts, too, accumulate some crud!

You will need to do some washing, Bud!

“The blood of Jesus Christ, God’s Son”

Available to everyone!

.

.

Why did He go to Calvary?

And did He suffer just for me?

No!  Put yourself right in the place

For everyone fits in His Grace!

.

.

But you must receive Him now!

His kind forgiveness must allow!

Confessing sins and guilt to Him

This is the key to entering in!

.

.

ONLY GOD CAN

Now can anyone doubt God’s existence?

His watchfulness and His care,

First, His existence, just look around,

No, you will not see Him out there.

.

.

He is Spirit!  He is everywhere.

Look up.  Can you see vast space?

Just a bit of it, a very small bit

And you cannot see God’s face!

.

.

So many things we cannot see,

Admit it!  The wind that blows,

A gentle breeze, soon a hurricane!

All is still but the result shows.

.

.

Can see devastation everywhere!

Tsunami, just what controls?

Are any Buddhists waking up?

Many women want to know.

.

.

Suns and planets in limitless space,

Billions of suns we cannot see.

Enough heat  generated in space

To last through eternity!

.

.

A loving God!  Yes, He can control

The earth, the skies, the seas!

Not Neptune, nor Thor, no man as God

Not even Hercules!

.

.

God made trees, flowers that grow,

Corn and wheat to sustain!

Sure, one can curse God, if he desires,

And one can get used to pain!

.

.

But I choose God!  Just no other way

Someone out there really cares!

I am beggar enough to take what He gives.

I will take it, thank Him, and share.

.

.

Jesus, God’s Son, God, none the less.

Who was crucified by scum!

Rose from the dead, ascended above.

Someday will rule everywhere!

.

.

He rose from the tomb and ever lives!

And living, He signifies

That Satan is doomed for eternity!

It is certainly no surprise!

.
