WELCOME HOME PILGRIM

I do not quite know what is happening

But then I do not much care,

Because as I dwindle down with age

The will to care is not there.

.

.

It is probably a good thing

To be insensitive,

You are less inclined to worry about

How long you have got to live.

.

.

Of course, you have got to worry some,

What else you got to do?

I cannot climb trees no more

It hurts to tie a shoe.

.

.

I am going home, it will not be long.

That effervescent glow

Reflecting from my shining down

Contends I want to go!

.

.

“Well, where you all going?” you ask.

And I say, “Where do you think?”

I much prefer my heavenly home

To that infernal stink!

.

.

“What makes you think you have a choice?”

“Not think, my friend, I know.

I am prepared for heaven’s domain!

The Bible tells me so!”

.

.

If you believe in Christ, God’s Son;

Confess your sins and pray,

You too can have this confidence

To hear the Savior say:

.

.

“You may enter ransomed child,

It is nothing that you have done.

I died for you!  I paid sin’s price,

So welcome home, my son!”

HE DIED, ONCE AND FOR ALL

Doctors cannot do it, cannot heal the soul!

Cannot begin to try.

Cannot cauterize, may heal a heart but

To forgive, Christ had to die!

.

.

“The wages of sin is death,” so Christ

Assumed the penalty,

Because He loves us!  He took the cross!

Made it so plain to see!

.

.

Why cannot we take God at His word?

When He tells us, “I forgive!”

Gratefully lift up hands, now cleansed,

Thank Him!  Begin to live!

.

.

That is why He died!  Do not you believe?

Claim His forgiveness now!

Or did the Savior die in vain?

My sin He cannot allow!

.

.

The devil lies!  Forgive He will!

Do not live in doubt!  Receive!

He said, “Confess your sins.  I will forgive.”

Thank The Lord!  Just believe!

.

.

It was not an easy sacrifice!

Can you feel the agony?

The cost of our sins, His cruel death,

Something too hard to see!

.

.

Was Judas forgiven?  Of course he was!

Believe I hear Jesus cry.

Judas could not believe nor receive,

So in sin he had to die!

.

.

It is your never dying soul!

Take good care of it!

THE ENEMY

Is Satan still around? Oh, yes!

When once put out to roam,

Multitude of evil with him.

On, no! He is not alone!

He may go where he wants to go

Wreak havoc everywhere,

But not for long, in hell he will be

Locked in forevermore!

You do not believe that he exists?

Try bucking him sometime.

Temptations vibrate from his soul

You slip on his vile slime!

But vile is not just what you sense

Whenever he comes around.

“Angel of light,” you will see him as,

Not evil or hell-bound.

Comes to deceive, take you down!

Wants lots of company!

For where he is going he will gloat

And skip around in glee!

Lift that load, tote that container

Of oil, feed those flames!

If you go with him, no one else

Is there to blame!

Want someone to blame? Of course you do!

In hell each blames the other

Where all you find are enemies

Even your own brother!

Of course, we do not want to go there

So what then can be done?

Confess your sins to God above

And cling to His Only Son!
