YOU ARE MY FRIENDS *

The creator and sustainer of our universe

He is the bright and morning star.

He is with me in blessing and fellowship right here!

Yet He ministers to others afar!

.

.

He is lauded and worshipped by millions in heaven!

Yet He gives Himself to us now, here!

He created the universe with a rare thought,

And still He abides with me near.

.

.

He is still creating out there in infinity!

Yet you can feel His presence right now!

He shatters the clouds with thunders in the heavens

And still we are no stiff, we will not bow.

.

.

Bow down to Him now!  He is worthy of praise!

We cower under “acts of God”

Repetitiously sing about our awesome God!

Do not you know He is the only God?

.

.

There is no other God under heaven or above.

“I am the master of my fate?”

Sure you are and yet when we come to the end

We do not want to share Satan’s fate!

.

.

Listen up!  We matter to our God of love!

He created worlds without end!

So easily He keeps universal order

And He still wants to be your friend!

THANK YOU LORD

When the mists have rolled away

Promising a perfect day,

There is nothing left to say but

Thank you, Lord!

.

.

Then rain comes splashing, slamming down,

Do not you know we all could drown?

Look up and see clouds angry frown and

Thank you, Lord!

.

.

Rain keeps pelting, what a day!

Looks a lot like it could stay

For awhile, it surely may but

Thank you, Lord!

.

.

Thunder, lightening it is a storm!

No way will this weather conform

But no sense being sad or forlorn so

Thank you, Lord!

.

.

Soon the sun will show its face

Now look up and see, not a trace

Of clouds just sun in its place.  Yes,

Thank you, Lord!

.

.

In all things give thanks to Him

Whether days are dark or dim.

Giving thanks keeps us from sin so

Thank you, Lord!

.

.

When I go to bed tonight

Pray for loved one with all my might!

Let me wake to brilliant light!  Oh,

Thank you, Lord!

NIGHT AND DAY

The fog moves in and shadows fall.

One cannot see the sun at all.

It is so complete in hiding out

Can hardly see the trees about!

.

.

It does not mean the trees are not there,

They are where man planted them everywhere!

Though we cannot see the sun we know

It just cannot penetrate below.

.

.

Through all this fog that shifts about,

But it is all there it will not fade out!

And when those clouds have rolled away

It leaves to us a brighter day.

.

.

Sometimes, I fear, when shadows fall

That God cannot hear my plea at all.

Seems constant and the clouds just sit

The dark is still there, the fog will not lift.

.

.

Well, what would you know, I see a light!

Now would not you know the sun is too bright!

It is way too hot, will not fade away!

Sure wish the fog would roll this way!

.

.

So how are you going to please them all?

When will The Lord make the right call?

His blessings flow!  The sun shines bright

But still we are glad for clouds and the night!

LOOK UP

“…provoke, encourage, or induce

Each other to good works!”

What worse can be done than

Be reminded of our quirks?

.

.

Just one of them discouragement,

We give in to our feelings!

Instead of looking down, so much.

Look up past the ceiling!

.

.

Look up!  Observe the sky so deep!

Its depth shows it as blue,

The specs of clouds that float on by

They smile or frown at you.

.

.

What is beyond?  You have got to think

Infinity of space!

Is that all?  I cannot help but see

The wonders of God’s Grace!

.

.

A sin, I think, God cannot endure,

As I gaze into the blue,

Sin of complaint short sighted

We see enough but clouds it is true.

.

.

But even the clouds are beautiful

Look close, you can see a face,

And look it is facing upward!

Reminder of God’s Grace!

.

.

Yes, God is there!  He is everywhere.

He is even in your soul!

As Spirit, He can indwell, integrate,

Within or from pole to pole!

.

.

And remember, He is in control!
