I AM SCUM?

Someday I shall be like Him for I will see Him as He is.

This is not inconceivable the desire is not amiss.

.

.

To be more like The Master in thought, in word, and in deed

Is desirable and natural not signifying greed.

.

.

For geed is not included in the spirit-fruits we see

Gentleness and kindness these will last eternally.

.

.

Patience, love, joy, and peace continue evermore

They litter the fair streets of that everlasting shore!

.

.

The brightest smile imaginable will greet you over there

Whether angel or first arrival the greeting will not be rare!

.

.

Listen up!  We are bought with the blood of the Savior.

We are justified and cleansed from all debased behavior.

.

.

Just as if I had died but God did it for me.

I am cleansed, I am made perfect, I am now forever free!

.

.

Was not righteousness imputed to Abraham by faith?

Reconciled and credited, giving then a perfect slate? (*)

.

.

The witnesses of Hebrews 12, great cloud of scummy folk,

All anticipated heavens joys imputed, not revoked! (**)

.

.

I am scum but I am a child of God!  Please elucidate!

For if I should remain scum I may miss my date!

DREAMS OR REALITY

“Wrap the drapery of his couch about him,” how about a body bag?

“Lie down to pleasant dreams down there,” or watch that body sag. (*)

.

Forget all that corruption!  All dust to dust will turn.

May pipe some music to that grave, good listening while you burn!

.

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust.  What difference will it make?

God puts it all together again almost like shake-n-bake.

.

God made us and He can unmake, like, throw away some stars.

Whole bunch of unmanned planets, too, like, Mercury and Mars!

.

Is there a purpose in all this?  Who knows?  I know God knows!

Tsunami power can destroy!  As can the wind that blows.

.

Whole lot of fire down below!  A lot of gas and heat.

Mount Saint Helens and Vesuvius both prove that is hard to beat!

.

So can we trust our God to save?  Provision has been made!

You cannot hack it be yourself, good works will not make the grade.

.

Salvation is by faith alone and absolutely free!

Christ made provision on that cross!  His blood now cleanses me!

.

What more can simple pilgrims ask?  Lie down to pleasant dreams?

That dream may last a second, you will wake up realities!

.

So real you will never give a thought to what transpired before!

So real we will not have thoughts to waste on skies or walls or floor!

.

So real we will recognize each face though ageless we will be.

And visit?  Time will be no more, just everlastingly!

OLD MAN MENTOR

Old man mentor had his pupils some 2,000 years ago.

What he taught them was wisdom, the only way to go.

.

Abraham and Moses had Jehovah, the very best.

Elisha had Elijah, many prophets passed the test.

.

The disciples, taught by Jesus, could not get much better!

Oh yes, Joshua had Moses, they went by the letter.

.

Paul had Gamaliel, taught law and philosophy.

Later, in the wilderness, God taught and that was free.

.

Paul mentored young Timothy, his son in the faith.

Many are still mentored into Christ’s saving grace!

.

Melancthon had Luther and both from Rome were led!

Following the Scripture by the Holy Spirit fed!

.

My parents were my mentors, they taught through early days,

To follow Christ, the Savior, in Holy Spirit ways.

.

And then The Lord took over.  I am Holy Spirit led.

His teaching will continue as daily I am fed!

.

He is leading me to heaven, I have faltered by the way,

But depending on His strength, I am led to perfect day!

.

Eternal in His glory my Mentor and my King,

By faith I, even now, can the song of victory sing!

.

It is not my win but Jesus, who saved me by His grace,

And died for me that soon I may look upon His face.

.

One look not near enough!  I will spend eternity

Basking in His Son-light because He mentored me!

.

My depression destroyer to reach that happy day

I keep looking to Jesus!  He led me all the way!

JUDAS, WAS HE SAVED?

Sure, we knew Judas as Jesus did.

Think He was fooled just a bit?

As treasurer, Judas, like, held the purse.

No, Christ was not fooled by it!

.

.

As a servant of sin he fooled no one!

Sure, loved money more than God!

When he threw that money at Pharisee’s feet,

Was it repentance in accord?

.

.

In accordance with true repentance,

Did he ever truly repent?

True repentance is followed by true hope,

As though receiving consent.

.

.

His spirit bears witness with yours when true!

We just know by faith forgiven!

We know, by faith, there is a place reserved

For this poor soul in heaven!

.

.

Great rejoicing!  We feel it inside!

Faith tells us so!

“Confess our sins…He is faithful and just

To forgive…” that sinner below!

.

.

God knows your heart, can you receive forgiveness?

.

.

Just me, Sam 60.02.11

SAINTHOOD

“That I may know Him!” Sainthood comes

With knowledge of God! One becomes

‘A saint.’ What – whoever that may be!

Head in the clouds not attracting me.

Not good according to the law.

Self-righteousness not without flaw!

Become proud, look down on others.

“Not like me, they are not my brothers!”

Have you ever tried to keep the law?

Break just one and you are guilty to all!

Not my own goodness, I acclaim,

Jesus’ righteousness! Not the same!

His righteousness imputed to me,

By faith I accepted, now I can see.

The reason for living is loving Him.

As your loving Him, you cannot sin!

The desire to sin is forever gone!

That is what the sinner leans upon.

“I will do whatever I want to do!”

Overruled! By a new purpose, true!

For me, “To live is Christ,” death is gain.

That is sainthood, so pure and so plain!

The emphasis here really should be

To be like Christ means have Christ in me!

ONLY A SINNER

I cannot boast of righteousness

Or sinlessness, I know!

“Remember me!”  This poor thief cried

With nothing to bestow!

.

.

Thief did not even live by faith!

This was not  m y  excuse!

The “Just shall live by faith in God,”

How can I plead abuse?

.

.

I was abusive in the ring!

Proud of my speed and strength.

Deserving every condemnation

Of Hell, the end at length!

.

.

But, “Just shall live by faith in God,”

Then met more than my match.

That ended my short fight career!

No glory could I catch!

.

.

This had nothing to do with faith!

That self destructively

Though pleading for forgiveness,

I downgraded effectively!

.

.

Until I claimed forgiveness again!

When Pearl Harbor occurred!

Joined up later, The Philippines,

All excuses differed!

.

.

A sinner with the rest of them,

I served, of course, myself!

While fighting for my country!

Faith was put on the shelf!

.

.

“Forgive my trespasses,” I pled!

Like, most everyday!

This likely kept me humble!

How better can I say?

.

.

Those guys call me, Sky Pilot, Preach,

Though so far from the Lord,

And far from debating it

As though I could afford.

.

.

Yes, sin can take so many routes,

Like, pride worst of all!

Daily I must plead for God’s strength

Daily, lest I fall!

.

.

I cannot, I shall not fall,

This too, a Satanic ploy!

Through overconfidence, cannot He

This Soul destroy!

.

.

My confidence is in the LORD!

I trust Him and will not fear!

Trust Him fully persuaded that

I will always find Him here!

.

EVERLASTING DAY

Distant stars, quintillion miles, sparkling way up there.

How can anyone surmise a God who does not care?

Distant orbs that look as if they are pin points we could reach.

How big, how great a God like this and yet we can beseech!

.

.

He hears us when we worship!  When we murmur or cry out!

“Hush child,” hear Him whisper, “I can hear you never doubt!”

Ears attend to your contesting words unspoken silent thoughts,

Never yet unattended!  That is what we from Calvary sought!

.

.

“Never fear for I have bought you, not without a fearful price!

Sleepless nights, every torture consummate with man’s devise!

It was worth it for I found you, you were lost but now you see

You are mine!  Now and forever since, by Faith, you found Me!”

.

.

“Not to worry about the future, you are in My tender care!

Though you die grave clothes claim you I will never leave you there.

Do not you know twice mine you are!  You can never get away!

You may leave but I will find you, there is nothing left to say!”

.

.

“Just rejoice!  You have been purchased by My death on Calvary.

Pain I suffered, you will never, you will never feel or see!

Yes, there may be pain and sorrow but no more that you can bear!

I am with you, this I promise!  All your sorrows I will share!” (*)

.

.

“Then once home in Heaven, rejoicing all your pain and sorrow gone!

No need for rest but if desired there is My arm to lean upon!”

.

.

Can you think of any better way to pass the time? (**)

Than to visit countless planets in God’s universe, sublime!

.

.

(*) Jesus’ very words!

(**) I forgot, in Heaven, time is not a factor!
