Retrospectively reliving my past.

Already done many words

Helping I trust not hindering,

Whole milk and not the curds.

Through it all I see India past

Up until ten my age.

Two boarding schools, Darjeeling the first,

East near the Himalayas.

I remember well the British train,

Narrow gage, quite small.

Engine slanted for traveling upgrade.

Barely noticed at all!

Top of the mountain, like 12,000 feet,

Engine, like, switched for downhill grade.

About 2,000 feet down and then

Darjeeling School had it made!

Two school years, both nine months long.

Clear west!  It was Woodstock when

3-years there, like, Boarding School, too.

Woodstock it was named then.

1926 through 1929 sort of hard to distill.

Sunday we climbed up a zig-zag trail

Leaving school chores of pounds, shillings and pence.

Up, up to a church on the hill.

Remembered well the hymn sung, ‘Holy, Holy,’

Appropriate with sight bestowed.

Straight down could not see valley for clouds

Then up see eternal snows.

From East to West nothing else to see.

Sight to dazzle the highest

Amazing mountains nearing 30,000 feet,

And, of course, there is Everest.

Appearing still higher is Kanchenjunga but

Just a couple of hundred feet less.

Closer to the sight, so the appearance,

A bit lower we must confess!

Annapurna a running close third,

They are the trinity of height.

Three highest mountains in this tired old world,

One truly dazzling sight!

Did God do all this?  Oh yes, and way more!

“Heavens shout His glory!”

Shatter the Heavens!  Proving His greatness!

This is not the end of this story!

I was actually moved enough to drop a comment response 😉 I actually do have 2 questions for you if it’s alright. Is it just me or do some of the comments appear as if they are left by brain dead people? 😛 And, if you are posting at additional places, I would like to follow you. Could you list all off your shared sites like your linkedin profile, Facebook page or twitter feed?
