Just where is this place called Heaven?

Please explain this ‘city of peace’!

Save for the fact that it is timeless

And heaven will never cease.

What He has made will surprise us,

Nothing existing comes near.

The noise and the strife of big cities

Everything there will bring cheer.

Some folk like lots of excitement,

The rush, the roar, and the rage!

They will miss all that racket in heaven

It they get there, another page!

Oh!  Look out!  Here comes an angel,

He is here!  No wings!  Speed of grace!

They are everywhere and not noisy

So happy the smile on that face!

Wow, look, much more of them present.

Were not but suddenly here!

Delirious with joy they are here to see us

And they do not mind coming near!

Bad breath?  No way!  Not in heaven!

Our rotting bodies no more!

Clothed, spirit-bodies, God made us

We are made for that heavenly shore!

They all want to show us their city

The blessed city of God!

All sorrow and sadness are absent!

Nothing to pity above!

If you have to have something to pity,

The sun!  Do not need it up there!

The light, though brilliant, not hurting

Comes from a presence so fair!

So fair!  We remember a shambles

Of sweating from heat below.

Not to mention the need for sunglasses

New light everywhere!  What a show!

So what are we missing?  Not a thing.

What have we left beside?

Nothing of any value at all!

Nothing by sin, not denied.

Everyone happy!  No frowns anywhere!

How to explain such joy!

What is to explain?  There is no sadness there!

When we God’s presence employ!

No sorrow, no sickness, no death so grim.

What did you think you would find?

Nothing imperfect!  We will find free from sin.

All the good things God designed!
