“To everything there is a season…”

“Time to be born, a time to die.” (1)

Season to us seems interminably long,

But just a breath and a sigh!

This life so full!  Not a bed of roses,

Done it all!  Been everywhere!

Sickness, sorrow, there is pain but there is joy!

Near death often times much to share!

Crocodile scare much too much to share,

Give it up!  There is nothing left!

Find refuge in that, “Cleft in the Rock!” (2)

My hiding place that Cleft!

Hitchhiking often from shore to near shore,

Banana a day my fare (3)

Even less!  In the islands a far!

Land mines explode!  I was there!

Undaunted love life anything left?

Hearts broken!  Did I escape?

Ridiculous thought!  Are any untouched?

Here is a crying towel to drape!

When Jesus said, “Just a little while…”

Time to the Eternal One,

Snap of the fingers, a blink of an eye,

Life is over!  HIS just begun!

Can we think in limitless terms?

Everlasting will not give up!

I gave up on self a long time ago!

Now just Jesus, this happy pup!

Never more blessed since I gave Him all!

The little I give HE gives back!

Cannot out give God, Father above!

Keep giving!  Never have lack!

(3)                 At times, no banana
