Of course, He felt responsible, would not you or I?

For that little puppy, leave it out to die?

Crying for her mother, we took her away!

Soon he had forget with love, what is left to say?

Soon forget, boarding school, memory long ago!

As if I could ever forget, beautiful home below.

In the plains, while in these hills at 7-8,000 feet,

Himalayan hills with Mount Everest distant peak!

Snowy peak smiling down highest in the world!

At near 30,000 feet, towering uncontrolled!

Untamed near unclimbable, staring down on all!

Lower hills, Kanchenjunga jealous?  Not at all!

Peak only 200 feet below, Mount Everest, that hill,

What we called it next to the highest, though it still

Appears higher than the highest from that church,

At near 9,000 feet, hearts with awe to fill!

I knew that hill as Kanchenjunga way back then!

Appearing taller than Everest to this boy of 10.

Did they change spelling from I to A?  I do not know.

Wrote a story while back, Kin of  Kanchenjunga show.

Just how could Muslim or Hindu not observe

Towering peaks out there?

Higher than any mount around as

Not God created compare!

Made those mountains way, way back before.

Before any Hindu saw,

Before any eagle could fly near that high!

Near Hare-Krishna’s paw.

Dear God, I will never know how could they fail to

See that someone much bigger than

Any mountain, Everest or Kanchenjunga.

Great gulf of Creation, span!

Did not just happen!  Or mighty explosion.

Such, oh such grandeur,

Reaching through skies higher than any

God’s great Creation, for sure!
