WE GATHER TOGETHER

Each Autumn humbly proud

Of such heritage we are allowed.

.

.

Reunion time, we represent Germany,

Canada, and some British, free.

.

.

Farmers most, we remember so well,

Early hours, some by lantern, we tell!

.

.

Sure, it is milking time for livelihood pure,

Without which can we long endure?

.

.

Then again later every night,

Lantern, far better than candlelight.

.

.

Those olden days, good!  Slept oh, so well!

Insomnia?  Not!  And can any tell–

.

.

How this pattern of pure livelihood

Could assist in your feeling so good?

.

.

Seems to me as God ordained,

This purity as mothers, framed–

.

.

Children to grow, to live everlastingly

In Heaven’s Kingdom forever free!

.

.

What more could any desire then

Land to till and satisfied when–

.

.

That lantern shows that, all is well!

Day of labor, the good can tell!

.

God is good when honest the toil!

Cattle all fed!  Nothing to spoil!

.

.

Heaven  awaiting, what more can be said.

Dream of it once in your bed.

.

.

No better dream could anyone have,

Than being in that home above!

.
